Growing up, I always loved finding one of Ditko's early Marvel monster tales reprinted in titles like "Vault of Evil" and "Tomb of Darkness." R.I.P.

PS: Ditko drew 41 issues.  AF 15, ASM 1-38, Annuals 1 &2.

I bet they couldn’t come up with something that inventive in those comic books.

What a drag. I have been writing Ditko for about the last year and a half and he always wrote back up to about 4 weeks ago hence my thread about a week ago here asking if anyone had heard from him recently. Figured something was up.  

His responses to my letters were all across the board but he said he enjoyed getting letters as long as the writer asked a specific question, which I always did.  

Im so grateful I got a chance to communicate with him.  

So long Mr. Ditko.

Just saw this and it hit me like a ton of bricks, even though I've been expecting it for years now. One of THE Greats has passed. Rest in peace Steve Ditko. You will never be forgotten.

Ditko was one of the all time greats.

I admire him and his magnificent Dr Strange and ASM work.

Ditko brought so much to the table and had so many aficionados who thought he was the best. He was comics' classic eccentric, avoiding the limelight while beguiling his fans. Even though so few people got to meet him, his presence will be hugely missed. RIP.

He is my all time favorite artist and half responsible for the greatest run in comics history.  He was a master at conveying different expressions on the faces of the people he drew.  I always thought his work had a ton of depth to it.

my bad - I did not look at the Marvel database and was going by what is in the comic book realm website. That information did not break it down by story but the overall contributors to the annual 2. I was confused by his other work in the same book being pencils and them listing him as having done pencils and ink.

Thanks for the correction-- makes sense that Kirby was the main artist for that issue because the Torch was the focus of the book and he was doing most of the early Torch ST stories.
