Square Bound Spines

I have a question I have often wondered about. First pic below is a normal spine, showing none of the printing on the vertex. The second is an example of the whole vertex visible on the Front cover. The second example doesn't seem to be common . CGC doesn't seem to care as you will see 9.8's given. Is this just a normal printing bindery problem? If so, how did it happen and is the BC now on the vertex ? I realize the cover is glued to the stapled set of pages so I would think it could have shifted, post production, but I really don't know.

@Bomber-Bob

This is quite common in my experience Bob.

Here's two more examples where the vertex is on the cover, lifted from ebay:

In both cases it's just a miswrapped cover, and the spine will be white. I had a good few Spideys like it. Just a natural production flaw in my view. You can see less of the cover to the right accordingly where the book was cut square. No different to a regular miswrapped book.

As for whether CGC should take note of it, I dunno. They used to note miswraps didn't they? I suppose the book is structurally sound in terms of it's grade, but visually flawed because of the miswrap. Presumably this is why we have CVA, to tell us the perfectly wrapped 9.8 version is 'better' than the imperfectly wrapped 9.8 (:
