Many, many, many comics use a big center circle on the cover art (sun, moon, death star, just a circle, whatever) - Amazing Spider-man #300 is probably the one seen most often (due to the number of available copies), but it was used on ASM #200 as well, and I'm guessing there are decades of examples.

Show 'em if you've got 'em!  (...and can we figure out which books were the earliest?)
