Anyone ever wish they could just chill like Spider-Man at 3:54 am on a Monday morning?

Another great Andru cityscape from Giant Size Spider-Man #3!

My absolute favourite thing about this is the "Part 1" in the upper-right corner <3<3<3

EDIT: what a cool story title too... another thing that seems to be missing these days...

Why do you enjoy the "Part 1"?

My favorite thing about this page, is imagining myself going to the top of a building in 1974 and finding Ross up there drawing this.

I feel like it used to signal the beginning of something more grand... with everything these days being written for the trade it hardly matters anymore, but back then... and even when I started reading in the early 90's, multi-part stories were more exciting...

I think there was an early 90's ASM story that involved Silver Sable... it had a similar "Part 1," so I remember that... I dunno.  It just seemed to mean something special b/c not every 6th issue was a "part 1" to something

One of my favorite of those multi-issue stories was this cliffhanger from ASM #157 and #158.  I was like, Whoa, what the heck is Spidey going to do as I reading that last page of ASM #157.

Dammit!  You guys are going to end up making me buy this entire run...

My priority right now is a nice raw #130 though... Spider-Mobile!

As promised!  From the mailman in a thin paper cover.  Great memories.  Part of my Spidey #100-252 run.

Excellent! I always loved the web pull punch on Gobby and the Flash out the window scene. He was at the height of his powers here I think, Ross. Going to have to read them again now!

Two recent Heritage sales:

Never a fan of Bob Mcleod's inking. He didn't do the eyes right

That's more like it, even if it does appear a little hurried :)

I still haven't decided if I liked McLeod's inks over Andru's pencils after all these years, lol.

Nice posts.

MGSimba77, I noticed those steps were missing too.  Here's a picture of the NY Historical Society building with the steps similar to how Ross drew them.  Not sure the vintage of this photo, but it does look like the steps were extended some time after ASM 165 was published.

This thread was Marwood's dedication to his favorite ASM run , namely 176 through 180.  But he opened it up when I started getting off topic and we've had fun with it ever since.

We surely have :)

Returning to the original 176-180 run, wouldn't it be nice to own this:

Worth four times more than my car, alas

$43k, whoa.  I was guessing $20k.  I always wanted a cover, better hope my lottery ticket comes in.
