Welcome to the “Not Quite Ricksneatstuff” Planet Sale, though this thread will include several irresistible Planet keys.

In keeping with the Fiction House family, I'll also be including one of the earliest and most classic of the classic Jumbo Comics.

Finally, a few early Wonder Woman books that don't often surface on these sales threads or elsewhere. 

Payment: 

  • Money order or check is preferred, but PayPal also accepted.
  • Payment due within 10 calendar days.

Shipping:

  • US: $7 for raw, $15 for graded.
  • Canada: $15 for raw, $25 for graded.
  • Overseas: at cost, and only to established board members.
  • All books sent by Priority Mail with tracking. 

Additional terms:

  • “I’ll take it”, “take it”, “take”, and creative variations thereof in thread will trump all PM negotiations.  
  • On-going negotiations will be canceled in favor of an unequivocal “take it” in thread or through PM. 
  • Returns will be accepted on raw books within 3 months of receipt. 
  • If you are new to the boards, a well-established board member will need to vouch for you.

Starting off with Wonder Woman. Early issues of this title put a whole new spin on the concept of "women in peril". This title is still so undervalued, but prices are beginning to creep up, if GPA is any indication.

 

Wonder Woman #23 – 4.0 – crm/ow pages – $240 -----> NOW 20% OFF = $192

Classic “Story from Wonder Woman’s Childhood” by William Moulton Marston. Possible candidate for pressing.

Iconic.

Harder and harder to find these in the wild. Great colors, some wear on cover and spine, and stain on back cover.

Planet Comics #66 – 3.0-3.5 – ow – $300 ..........  SOLD TO JASON SALE !!!!!

Another iconic cover. And agonizingly hard to find. Great colors. Pure 1950’s sci-fi essence. This issue will be impossible to find within the next couple of years at any grade. 

Chip at middle of top cover, general cover wear. Those waves at the upper half of the book should press out just fine.

Jumbo Comics #10 – 5.0 restored (slight) – ow/w pages – $1,200 ...... SOLD TO GEOFAN PER PM !!!

One of Lou Fine’s greatest covers from Oct/Nov 1939. Overstreet designates this book as a "classic", which says a lot given that no other books in the Jumbo run received a "classic" designation. It's also a Gerber "7" = scarce (21-50 copies in existence), and GPA bears this out, with only 21 copies total on the census. This book just never comes up for sale. Well, almost never. The few recent copies have been snapped up at premium prices.

This copy has tear seals, actually 12-13 small pieces of tape, on the inside front cover, so this bit of resto might be correctible. At the time of purchase I was told there was some color touch on the cover, which is difficult to detect, but might be some black touch-ups inside the black horizontal strip (where it reads "64 pages in full color") and near the left staple. If there is color touch, it was expertly done.

This copy holds together well, with supple pages, GREAT colors, and is a fantastic read, with the origin of Sheena and her new costume, plus all the other stars of 1939 on interiors: Eisner, Fine, Powell, Briefer.
