To me, MF 52 - 56 are one of the most iconic mini-runs in comics. My MF 54 and MF 55 are two of the most cherished books in my collection.

I used to own the Church copy of MF 56, unfortunately I haven’t been able to find a replacement (even restored would be fine) after all these years.:p

I would whole hardily agree. The Spectre is probably my favorite GA character. So dark and powerful. Almost biblical in nature. Pair him up with Dr Fate in the same book and wow. I owned a MF 52 once. It went when I bought my first house along with numerous other first issues. Was tough to give up at the time but it was the right decision. I think #53 gets slighted a bit. It is the second part of his origin. Then along came #54-56...  I have none of them and probably never will. Have to be content with the reprints.

There's a low grade 61 (missing centerfold) closing on Heritage today.

No there isn't, none of you should check there. Pay no attention to this. /s
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to continue bidding on something....totally unrelated to this post.  ;)

Haha, I've seen that. I appreciate it! Hopefully Sauce Dog or another was able to pick it up (don't get greedy on me Sauce Dog!).

I really did want it, but alas, backed out (around $350) as soon as it was looking to hit well over double what it went for originally (back when it was actually CGC graded). It honestly went for waaayyyy more than I ever expected of that incomplete copy.

I promise I'll leave some copies of this issue for you! :D

Got this one on these here boards recently. A real beater but I haven’t had an opportunity to add a More Fun to the pile in a long time.

Unlike a lot of DCs, these are a great read cover to cover. What a line up. My favorite, the Spectre got pretty weak by this time. But Dr. Fate, Aquaman, Green Arrow and Johnny Quick are all good reads. At least no Clover and Dover yet...

I'll admit, this went about $1,000 more than I thought it would.

Yes, a very very strong price indeed and cewrtainly goes against the thinking that a book has to be certified in order to get the big dollars as this raw copy here sold for something like 3.5X raw condition guide:  :whatthe:  :whatthe:  :applause:

Was happy go score this, needs a cleaning and deciding if I put it in   a new case, but a tough issue to find. Still looking for the elusive 54. B2168C2F-B615-4ACD-8293-00CEEDB7DCBC.jpeg.86c6bdefb9e9a3c8d89caffe6960099e.jpeg

That is a VERY good looking 5.5, I could totally see that getting some sort of small grade bump from a clean/press/resub

I’ve got a really rough copy of More Fun #101. I purchased it in a small stack of golden age comics about 2 years ago and as you can imagine, it was at the bottom of the stack. When I found it, the bottom corner was about 2x thicker than it should have been. I had to carefully unfold many, many dog ears with tweezers. I was wondering if I should bother sending it in or if CGC would even slab it if I did (NG maybe?)? No matter what, I will be happy because this is an amazing golden age key with good eye appeal. I was just hoping that I could have it better protected.

Thanks, Ian

Hi.  As long as the comic is complete, I’m pretty sure it will not get an “NG”.  The front would look cool in a CGC case.

It would get a .5 because most of the back cover is gone and large pieces of interior pages.

Personally, I'd leave it in a mylar with 2 fullbacks.
