Aside from Boy Comics #11 (one of my favorites of all Golden Age) I've always found this Biro cover interesting.

That one is classic, with a cover appearance of Mickey Mouse to boot!

Not to thread c@&p (though I was invited to do so in pm by the op)...

But anyone who is a fan of “Biro’s work” should read Ten Cent plague.  It paints him in almost as villainous a light as the characters which he so often depicted.

Apparantly he relied on some mechanical devices to assist his work, and in later years when he worked in a managerial capacity he allegedly frequently put his name on underlings works.

That said those covers that bear his signature are worth celebrating on their own merits.  He certainly had a knack for knowing what the public wanted and was a pioneer in the field who pushed societal norms beyond their limits.

I have to endorse this. Biro was a bit of a scoundrel. I highly recommend THE TEN CENT PLAGUE to any one who loves comic books. It's a great read and a very well researched book. If you love the Golden Age then you should read this. I can't wait to read it again.
