Small GA collection for sale: GI Jane, Romance, Jumbo - CLOSED
1 1

48 posts in this topic

I picked up a small collection, and I will be listing several of the books here. Somewhere between 10 and 20 books total. Most are lower grade, but there are some tough books in here. I am going to go with alphabetical order for the most part.

Shipping will be at the cost of the buyer. I will ship outside the US. Not trying to make any money on shipping, so I am happy to work with you, but 100% of the cost will be on you.

PayPal is easiest, but I'll take a check or MO if that's what you want.

I'll accept returns, but shipping is on the buyer unless I made an error in the listing.

First   in the thread wins, and those would trump any ongoing PM negotiations.

No buyers from the bad lists.

Climax! #1 from Gilmour Magazines, 1955. Pretty low grade copy with piece missing upper left FC. General creasing and wear, including a couple small spine splits. Tanning covers that are starting to be...delicate. It's all there and attached. Let's call it 1.8.

$15 SOLD!

G.I. Jane #3 from 1953 (Stanhall). Hot title, and a pretty book. See three small chips from upper spine and one on the lower right corner FC. My biggest issue is the tanning to the covers. See interior pics for better views of this. Pages are much nicer, and all there and attached. Some risque bits, and tons of GGA. Sharp looking 2.0 (depends on how much you ding it for the tanning, as I think it's structurally better). Admittedly aggressive on the price, but feel free to shoot me an offer if you like.

Was $250, but now $225

Headline Comics #49 (Prize Publications) from 1951. Cool hot rod cover, and Meskin art. Pretty solid book here. Tight spine, and good colors. some wear to the right edged FC. 24 pages (12 wraps) + the cover, so I am pretty sure everything is there. It is all well attached. I think it's a 5.0.

$40 SOLD!

Hi-School Romance #41 (Harvey) 1955. This one has a bright blue cover, and interior is all well attached. Some spine roll, and the staples are certainly not as tight as I would like them on the cover. Solid 4.5 condition. Interior is in great shape too.

Was $20, but now $18

Looks like I went out of order there a bit. This next book is my favorite from the lot. It reminds me of the book I read on the Zodiac killer....creepy.

The Hooded Menace one shot from Realistic/Avon in 1951. According to OSPG, it's based on a true story. This book presents well with no major defects. The cover is hanging on, but not by a lot. Otherwise, it's a pretty solid 3.5. I could be persuaded to call it 4.0, but i think that's just because I am fond of it.

Jumbo Comics #106. CGC says it has Baker art, but I am not certain on which story (stories?). Lots of great stuff here...SHeena, GGA, pirates, lingerie panel, a lynching. Standard pre-code stuff. Another solid lower grade book. Cover presents nicely, though it's certainly tanning. Interior shows it more. Staples holding on, but loosening a bit. There is a minor tear or two in the FC. BC has a dust shadow, and a couple more tears (biggest is a couple inches) and a small piece out. I call it 2.0.

Was $25, but now $22.50

Two books for one price here. Junior Miss #s 30 and 34. 30 is pretty rough with pieces missing, and lots of wear. Call it 1.0. However, Cindy does dress up as Poison Ivy for Halloween...no joke, see the pic. 34 is much better, but still low grade. Spine split and some writing, call it 1.8. Interiors well attached.

$25 takes them both.  SOLD!

My Past (Confessions) #8 from 1949 by Fox. Seems to be a pretty tough book. Presents well. Dust shadows FC and BC (with some interior tanning to boot). Some light pencil writing FC. Top staple popped. Otherwise, well attached and complete. Solid book with a great red dress cover. Only 6 on the census. I want to grade this one 4.0...maybe 3.5.

My Story #7 (1949) again from Fox. More of the same kind of stories...maybe even a bit juicier. This is another solid lower grade book. Not quite as reflective as the last, but another great red dress cover. Again with some light pencil on the right edge FC. General wear, but nothing major. All there and attached. 4.0 on this one.

Police Comics #122 (1952). Nice 3.5 (QUALIFIED!) book with general wear. However, there is a large piece missing from the first page (maybe 20-30% gone?)...see pic. This is nearly the end of the run for this major GA title. Not sure how much to ding it for the piece missing. Please "take" accordingly.
