The Boys 2019

Apologies if missed another thread.

Seems a definite goer - 8 part series with Karl Urban as Butcher.

Anthony Starr from Banshee is cast but his role is not named.

Slated for release in 2019 by Amazon Studios/Point Grey Pictures.

Filming in Canada. Loved the series - can they cram it all into 8 episodes?

Doubt they will be showing the teenage super-heroes circle jerk scenes though......

This 100% needs to be a genuine 'R' rated show - or it just won't work.

Here's hoping!

Do you disagree Hector?

I assume you have read the series - it's very hard-core.

The reason Hughie joins 'The Boys' should tell us within 30 secs where this show has been set.

A-Train has been cast, so it seems they are staying at least partially true to the story.

I had hoped Anthony Starr would be playing Hughie - but he isn't - check him out with a beard in Banshee - he even looks like Hughie!

But yeah - some of the issues are completely 'R' rated - They can't tone the content down, so they either just ignore it (and ruin the story) or make it R rated.

Karl Urban did 'Doom' - which was pretty violent, and Deadpool showed that 'R' can work.

I hope they don't water it down..

Jings!

Excited for this too. I'm interested on if/how they’ll tone down the content. I think there’s enough content to stretch this to multiple seasons if they'd like, but i can see some arcs being cut or streamlined to make it fit into 8 parts - the trip to Russia, for example (although seeing the Love Sausage make an appearance would be hilarious).

I await the scene with the "Teen Titans"-type group all gleefully...ahem..pleasuring themselves...while watching porn. As a group. Should make compelling television.

They will have the tone it down some but I don't think it will take an expert story teller to make this a compelling show.  Average guy gets wife killed by super-hero fight and then joins to team to bring down corrupt super-heroes.  Anything similar come out that I missed that would compete with it?

They have now cast Mothers Milk, Queen Maeve, Black Noir, The Deep - but no Frenchman or 'The Female' - IMDB does reference Jennifer Esposito in 8 eps in an un-named role.

She does have a lot of hair. I guess it's all down to how well she can say "HA!"

Homelander is played by Banshees Anthony Starr - result!

Starlight is played by Erin Moriaty - hope she can give great BJ's....  seriously though - well cast.

No Lamplighter or Jack From Jupiter (for those who haven't read the book, he's the chap with a peculiar taste in drugs made from the mucus of Queen Maeves err, Lady Garden) - who are 2 out of the Seven.

You will no doubt all be pleased to know that they have actually cast Popclaw and, god help us all TEK-KNIGHT!!

Sadly, as yet, no Love Sausage (or his giant member) ,Stormfront, Blarney C ock or any reference to the Devils Anus. Although Tek-Knight should cover all their sins. And some.

No way this doesn't get an R rating.

I had hope when Hughie said "F the Seven"

I think that's got to be a very watered down trailer.

The Highlander looked a bit weedy though.

Still going to give it a go, as I loved the series.

Jings!

PS: I hope Terror plays as in the comics......

Yuck

I'm guessing you haven't read it.

That was one of the milder scenarios - by far!
