Here is Part One of yet another original one owner collection I have unearthed. The fellow who owned these bought them himself off the stands back in the day. They came not too far from where the Lamont Larson collection lived.

Most of these have white type paper; some are off white - none are browning.

The paper on all books is very supple.

All have high cover gloss color reflectivity.

So, this is the first time you mention receiving your purchase from me? I re-checked MY HOME here on CGC boards for the posts listed there and nothing from you i can see as ROCKETEER - otherwise i would have responded. Might you be under some other name - there are a lot of posts in that file and i saved them all.

Here is one of the responses i did get back in May:

From: Jayman

Robert,

Jus a note to let you know I got the DC books in today.

They look great and thanks again,

James

The only loose end i know of was a fellow named Tyler in Canada who ordered some nice Tomahawks, but some Postal person smashed the corner thru all the card board - got every corner of every book save one - and i just got those back as i have a few dups i can replace him out on, even though it wasn't something i caused to happen.

I was out of the state for a few weeks, in & out, comicons in Oakland, Philly and elsewhere - and recently got back and opened up his package with my package inside, and yes, looks like a sledge hammer whacked the corner of the package, that, or a fork lift wheel.

and he was the only one who ordered off that list who requested sending something back.

so, looking at the JLA 120, i see nothing wrong with it - what am i missing?

best

Step one in asking for a refund from me is to ask. Step Two is to mail stuff back

from what i can gather, you did neither.

seems like you for the first time did Step One

now, simply do Step Two

it's easy

I guess it depends how you interpret "near" mint... 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

"way near"

"sort of near"

"not to near"

"no way near"

Sorry,

I bought a lot of books from different vendors this weekend,..I thought I had you covered,...should be there now.

Back to present day future tense:

according to my e-library of over 20,000 stored emails from thousands of customers all over the world, these are the only emails you have ever sent me. All back in April. All pre you getting the books, simply placing your order.

You never contacted me post ipso facto

so, were ALL the JLAs you ordered from me pieces of [embarrasing lack of self control] to be used solely to line your cat box?

and PayPal says $155, not $175 - i gave you a discount, if you bother to read any of the email exchanges.

you never contacted me after getting your books

are we having fun yet?

That book is nowhere near close to Mint. I would say the first step would be to GRADE CORRECTLY. Then, there would be no need for your First and Second Steps.

You are absolutely correct, except for:

i never offered MINT books - and he ordered a small pile - and only now, two months later, has decided to say here in public that a couple were not up to his liking - without EVER previously contacting me upon receipt of the books two months ago

I save damn near every business email which comes in - and have posted here ALL of the emails he ever sent me on this transaction - all before he ever got any of the books - all in ordering mode - nothing after receipt

tis OK, pile up on Bob-Time - i can take it

I am sorry, but I wouldn't even charge $4 for that book. Not to mention you say he ordered a small pile. What the FOK does that have to do with the price of dirt in the ocean?

...You're missing the point Bob,..it's not an issue now that you ignored my e-mails for a refund,..or that the sale was $155.00 not $175.00,.....it's the fact that you are an Oversrtreet Adviser and apparently can not tell the difference between a 9.4 NM book and a 5.0 VG/F book,...or that a 1 1/2 inch tear is acceptable on a NM book,...you can't possibly have been in the business for this long and not know how to grade...were're not talking about subtle shades here...we're talking about 4 points off....therefore I consider you to be no better than any other scamming thief on e-bay,...I'm done here...good luck with your books...

Best,

JD

this is the first time - today - that he contacted me regarding his purchase after he received it

anybody orders anything from me, and doesn't like it, for what ever reason, simply can return it for a refund - says so inall my ads and catalogs - and has said so for over 35 years now

I mail out a lot of stuff and make occasional errors no different than books that come out of the CGC grading factory. I have seen slabbed books under and over graded - consistently so, so has every one else

if John had a problem, he should have mailed the books in question back to me in early May when he got them - he can still do so

my point is he did none of those things

he did not contact and/or mail anything back to me

maybe he thinks he did - but then again, if you read his April emails to me while ordering, he thought he had paid me when he in fact had not

and he mentions $175 in his firts post here when it was in fact $155 for the stack

there are no emails from John to me after April 26, when he placed his order

or does that mean nothing?

Hey Bob,

I don't think he was the only one that was unhappy. I tend to believe that he either.

1. Sent his emails and you are claiming he didn't or

2. Didn't send the emails because he knew it wouldn't go anywhere.

Both are certainly believable. What I am wondering though is HOW you could even Misgrade and list and sell and send without even noticing it?

Best,

JD

I am not missing any points here.

I have searched thru my Mac using its FIND function typing in your name as well as your email address and there is nothing here - nada - from you trying to contact me after April 26 - the day you placed your order via PayPal

I keep all biz emails for this very reason of sorting out after the fact.

what tear ? on what book?

I mailed out several dozen orders from that April listing i made here of bronze hi grades.

Only a canadian named Tyler emailed with a problem from that list - and his problem was not in my grading, but the fact some post office worker creamed the corner of the entire package, thru the heavy card board, like a fork lift ran over it

and i have kept in contact with him as he contacted me, and then he sent the books back to me which i got last week after returning from some out of town show tto see what i can replace from dup hi grade copies i have for some of them

so, this drive by shooting is news to me - you never contacted me

either my email or by phone message

and i have all kinds of ads all over the place and set up at 20-25 shows a year all over the country.

and some times an error occurs - and i rectify it when notified - and i find nothing from you either in my email library or in those PM messages under MY HOME here in the CGC boards.

and i will ignore your last comment - i have been in this hobby since 1967
