Spirit #3 (CGC 8.0 with off-white to white pages) $1785::news: SOLD

“Classic Horror Cover” by Will Eisner and Jerry Grandenetti. Published 1952.

This is one gorgeous cover. Spectacular, stunning, phenomenal and breath-taking artwork and inks. Those colors just explode off the cover. A Fiction House masterpiece. Superb centering and structure helped earn this its “CVA Exceptional” designation.

This 8.0 is the highest grade ever certified by CGC with one other in grade. However, with off-white to white pages this stands alone as the single “best” grade compared with the other 8.0 which has off-white pages. And to top it off we have “Will Eisner” written on the first page in pen.

Super-Mystery Comics v5#3 (CGC 8.0 with Cream to Off-White Pages) $2675:

Here we have an extraordinarily creepy and haunting cover by Rudy Palais. The longer you look at it the creepier it gets. The color palette used is just stunning. I love the way the laboratory apparatus and the villain dominate the cover.

This December 1945 issue is not one you see that often. With 11 blue labels in census and only one graded higher, you have the opportunity to own the 2nd highest grade- a magnificent Davis Crippen (“D” copy) pedigree.

I would say this cover is definitely in the top 10 Super-Mystery Comics covers and maybe in the top 5. Esoteric horror at its finest.
