telerites
I don't collect ACGs but I saw this. Are they that hot or is this a special issue? It certainly doesn't look high grade. Just curious if anyone knows. https://www.ebay.com/itm/FORBIDDEN-WORLDS-Comic-Book-31-Science-Fiction1954-ACG/113256273794?hash=item1a5e999782:g:oikAAOSwZStboFBn
maraxusofkeld
A lot of the early issues are pretty scarce and will a press this would present nicely in a slab. It seems to that ACG pre code horror are starting to generate some interest over the last 6 months to a year. telerites
fifties
I thought that price was insane until I looked up closed sales on eBay. I can't believe what some of the Forbidden World issues are commanding now! OTOH, two of the same issue sold in the last two months, one for under $40, and the other for about a hundred. telerites
jimbo_7071
With some eBay auctions, the bidders have the mentality that they are going to beat out all of the other bidders no matter what. They often have no idea how much copies have sold for in the past. I've seen insane prices on common books. They also seem willing to take a seller's word for it when it comes to the grade. A VG that a seller calls a VF will sell for a VF price--sometimes. Many no-reserve-auction books sell for low prices. It's like the wild west of comic trading. miraclemet
I think with the rising prices for PCH keys, we are seeing "middle class" buyers priced out of those books, and they're turning their money to the "lesser" keys in hopes that the rising tide of PCH carries all books...Seeing similar things happening in Sci-Fi and Romance. telerites and IngelsFan
