Chillax23 Posted September 30, 2018 Share Posted September 30, 2018 I purchased a Batman 497 CGC 9.8 newsstand copy (which is a tough book to find) - however, CGC labelled it as a "Second Print" when it is clearly a first print (as the second print newsstand has a "II" in the upper left box and the batman logo has a yellow background and not a white one). Will CGC correct the label even if I am not the original submitter AND how would I ensure they catch the error that they missed at first instance? The price difference between a newsstand 1st print and all other Batman 497s is quite extreme - the newsstand has a GPA of $253 with a last sale of $265 in newsstand 9.8. I also seem to remember some second printings without the II on the cover = you had to look at the inside. Maybe some collectors with more knowledge about this issue can offer some help here. Since you can't open the book to see, it may truly be a 2nd print. Also, though CGC would correct it for free if there is an error, the shipping would probably be on you since you are not the customer/submitter . Chillax23 Posted October 5, 2018 Author Share Posted October 5, 2018 Thought I would post an update - CGC has confirmed it is a 1st print so the slab is mislabeled AND they have agreed to reholder for free and cover shipping both ways!!! Just thought since I see a lot of negative customer service posts all over the place, I thought I would take the time to say that CGC is really handling this well!! I was sending another pack to grade so I told them not to worry on the ship back but I did appreciate how good they were on fixing it quick.
