Yeah

I had it 9.0 - 9.2 without the '8'

I was hoping better graders than me who were more experienced with CGC's wiles could help with the effect the pen mark would have.

I'm guessing nothing huge, but if this was a 9.8 book, then I would expect a drop.

I have heard of books dropping as low as 8.0 with pen marks being the cause.

Yeah I hear you. I have some old 10 cents with the price scratched out w pen and 12 cents written next to it, or a 15 cent sticker over the original 10 cent price. I'm curious what the 'rules' are on that too. Ive notices a couple of other books with markings get high grades in this PGM forum, so I'm hoping someone addresses the mark situation further.
