But I’m serious; it was the only time I was ever scared by a comic. I love ECs. I reread Mignola’s Hellboy every Halloween. They’re fantastic! It’s just that I read them as an adult. I’ll admit that I used to be squeamish about vampires. So this, as a kid? Disturbed me a bit when I turned the page and saw that image in my newsstand copy, back in the 70s. That’s why I recalled it so easily. Very powerful artwork by Ramona Fradon there. It was the FF's darkest hour. They were so hopeless fighting Doctor Doom. Still to this day my favorite FF story #57 to # 60. Stan and Jack were at the top of there game. I found b&w magazine horror to be considerably scarier than comic format.
