The LCS holiday sale was outstanding to me.

I'm a huge Aliens fan, and I picked up a full set of Aliens Vs. Predator Vs. Terminator; which is surprisingly hard to find. I also found a great looking copy of DHP #24 in the bargain bin. They came out quite well.

I also (finally) sent my set of first edition, first printing Aliens books in. I knew book 2 had defects, but its for my PC, and I think it'll display great with my Aliens mini-comics & toys.

Additionally, a couple of Skottie Young signed books & a Ryan Ottley book came back. I still think these are two of the coolest guys on the planet. Skottie Young was as chill as can be, and Ottley is possibly the nicest guy on the planet. I paid for a Venom sketch commission, and he asks me, "did you get a copy of my FCBD ASM?" I told him that I'd tried hitting up a couple LCS, but they were gone by the time I got off work & got out there. Dude reaches into his art bag, pulls one out, signs it, and says, "now you've got one." That book is PC for life; it has memories attached.

Green label; they were part of the "lessons learned" submission to Dallas. Other guys who submitted with them at the show, 11/26-28/18, *still* haven't gotten their books back. I pulled my order at week 22, sent it to CGC, & have gotten it back. They're still waiting. 'Nuff said.

I'm still waiting on one box. They shipped one day after the other; one made it, the other is going to be held up over the holiday. Either way, they'll get home soon enough. Way less than 22 weeks. :P

Very happy with these books, and already putting together my next submission.

Just got these ASM books, Doc Ock was the previous owner, sad to see him sell most of his collection. The ASM books may count as a Christmas gift to myself

I don't normally chase westerns, but i do sometimes, and this guy had a bunch of interesting stuff up. I didn't win what I really wanted, but these are a change of pace. Probably paid too much for the Tim Holt, but it had a Ghost Rider story and I can never afford the solo GR books in half decent shape

I bought 99 books today from a dealer but at good prices. The magazines are in that thread but I will go greggy here on some of the groovier issues

Who wants to see some Lucio Parrillo unicorns? Some of these I’ve been chasing all year, one of them I’d never even seen before anywhere, and the Red Sonja virgin variants at the end may as well have not existed before these four popped up on feebay earlier this week. I am very excited about this haul 😍😍😍

@nepatkm Love that Punisher: War Zone #13 cover; one of my Punisher favorites.

Found one while I was on vacation that I forgot to post: Iron Man #1. The lighting isn't great; I have boxes all over and the shadows are fierce. I'll post better pictures once its on a slab.  Down to the last of the convention books that I have sorted out for my next submission; slightly sad these didn't work out with the other guys, since they were witnessed; but they'll look just as nice on the green label. ASM #700 Skyline w/ signature & remark by Sam De La Rosa & Venom #1 Sketch by Ryan Ottley. The plan on this one is to either find Stegman at a con & commission a Spider-Man blank, or get the back cover to this one & make it a flip book like the Super-Special's.

 

*Update*

Lazy Sunday, decided to take a trip around town & check out my favorite dollar bins. First thing I saw when I walked in were two of the ASM #129 cover swipes I've been looking for; Dark Reign: The List - Punisher #1's, The Sentry & Norman Osborne versions. Still looking for the B&W on The Sentry cover, but two out of three isn't bad at all. Pulled both #1's on Deadpool & The Merc's for Money, which is a series I thought was funny. The four die-cut shield Superman books were an impulse buy; Doug Hazelwood does the Texas conventions, so I figure they'll get signed sooner or later. The set of Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash was surprising; those are kinda hard to find in the wild (though abundant enough on eBay). Finally, the Spectacular Spider-Man #189 Silver Holofoil. Its in good shape, and these always move when bundled as a set of four, so its an easy flip. It was a great way to close out the dollar bin goodness of 2018.

Love the DH Aliens books, a collector after my own heart! I don't do slabs for the personal collection, for the most part, but I decided to put together the Aliens mini 1-6 in 9.8, and it took me years. YEARS. It was a fun hunt, though. Congrats!
