We are 15 days out, and although there are more people tracking the Bat 1, there’s more money on the Cap 1. I predict a dead tie between them come hammer time. There. I said it

scratching my head trying to figure out how this is a comparative example. the Cap #1 is a full grade and a half higher, shouldn't we compare grade for grade or as close to as possible?

Yes it is. And here’s the other end of the spectrum. Just finished an hour ago in the Clink auction

Seems like a good deal to me.

This may be a turning point, but for the last 12 months, Bat 1 has consistently been the book that outperformed Cap 1.  Cap 1 7.0 went for around $243k in CCs auction a few months back, so that’s my benchmark for it.  I just think a Bat 5.5 will bring about the same money, is all. Whether I’m right or wrong, this will be an exciting race.

The gap widens.  I may have to embrace the possibility my prediction was wrong. :tonofbricks:

Did the auction end ?  Can never tell with Heritage. 5.5 vs 7.0 for these 2 books with this eye appeal isn’t a fair comparison. Both great books content wise but I give the edge to Cap 1.

8 more days. These seem unnecessarily long

This gives guys like you time to pick up a Retainer from guys like kraft.thumb.jpg.069587e7d14c9ebf62b6540d04fa68bb.jpg(thumbsu

That’s funny woowoo! Kraft has gotta be setting records for the most costly 15 minutes on the planet. And from what I’ve read, he could probably benefit from a different lawyer

With 3 hours left, it’s a dead tie: $204k ea, counting the vig.  I think they will both pop another $25k

Barring any “Maximum Security” type disqualification, it appears as though it’s Cap 1 by a nose

i think if not for the foxing and the rusty staple on the Bat 1, a 5.5 would have defeated the 7.0 Cap 1. Came close enough to be very meaningful to the quiet war we wage on this thread

Bat 1 went for 175/210 and Cap 1 went for 190/228. So if they were in the same grade Bat 1 would have won by a lot.

Yes. Bat 1  has clearly separated itself from Cap 1.  When I started this thread it was a toss up. Cap 1 made good gains but has run out of wind to date .  Long live The Bat ! ( I’d still rather have a Cap 1 personally )
