Talapas1
Hit up the cheap bin at a local shop and found some low end treasures. Not too bad for six bucks. littledoom and kairos70

Popular Post Hey Kids, Comics!
Today was a good day. LCS had its first “Basement Sale” of the year. 200+ longs of mostly stuff that had never been out at $1 each or fill a longbox for $100. I filled two. Here are some of the highlights. Second pic is a pile of DH Star Wars. None of the big boys, but I bought all I saw just because. silversurfer275, ygogolak, tvindy and 4 others

I’ll take some of those SW off your hands. Seriously. Edited December 20, 2020 by manetteska

So funny how all these longtime dollar books became something significant over time. What’s the comic next to the Thor variant? And what’s so special about that What The issue? Marvel Super Heroes Special Fall 92. It contains the unpublished Ms Marvel 25 from the 70's series that would have been Rogue's first appearance. People hyping it as her true first appearance are silly but it's a $20 book. What The? 20 had the first appearance of Pork Grind, the Venom of the Peter Porker universe. It was insanely a $40 book back at the beginning of the year. MIGHT be $10 now, but still a fun book for less than 50 cents. With finds like that it makes you wonder how some comic shops ever stayed in business.

Most of those are not/should not be dollar books and some of them never really were. The comic shop doesn't know what it is doing, doesn't have clientelle buying back issues, or just can't be bothered selling sub $15-20 books online. I am wondering how these books hung around in the dollar box long enough to then be in a $100-$120 a long box? So my guess is that the store just doesn't have customers who buy back issues if this myriad of $10-$25 books were sitting in the dollar boxes already. Heck, Static 45 is a $75-$100 book.
