He also demeans people who attend San Diego Comic Con and is hence not very supportive of "nerd outings". There will always be people like that. When you consider how much money the comic book industry has brought in for movies and tv, you'd think the public outlook on the comic industry as a whole would have changed more. If Bill Maher was actually suggesting that everyone collect comics, that would probably be worse for comics than him saying "don't".
