Looking for advice on a waterspot 1 1

I’m interested in buying a high grade JIM83. It has a slight water spot. I’m worried if I send it to get dry cleaned and pressed it might get PLOD. Advice?

Water stain shouldn't garner a PLOD.  They'll (most likely) hit you pretty hard for it grade-wise though.  How large is the stain?  

Dry clean and press will not affect the stain.

Isn’t even a small drop automatically vg, and more extensive water damage busted down to G?

I’ve landed some nice books at steep discounts because of water damage. Not a deal breaker for me, but for some it’s a hard stop.

It always depends on how large and deep the stain is and how it affects the rest of the book. There is no single rule.

I’ve never even heard of that being possible.  I thought that once there was a water stain, there was no going back (and definitely not with dry cleaning and pressing).  So, it is somehow possible to do??!
