Startling Comics #47 (CGC 7.0 with off-white pages) $1600: $1500.  SOLD via PM.

Very clean and very attractive airbrushed bondage cover by Schomburg. Art by Bob Oksner, Sheldon Moldoff, Ken Battefield and Mike Suchorsky. Published September 1947.

One of the prettiest 7.0s you will find. Has nice off-white pages.

Eerie #1 (5-6/1951) (CGC 7.5 with cream to off-white pages) $2400:  SOLD via PM.

Eerie #1 (1947) is considered the first full horror comic. This marked the beginning of the comic horror genre. Unfortunately, it was a one-shot. But Avon resurrected the Eerie name and produced 17 new issues running from 1951 to 1954. This is the first of that series and the best cover of the lot (in my opinion).

Eerie loved voluptuous women wearing something red (usually a full red dress). What better way to catch a wandering eye looking over the comic rack. All but 5 issues had this winning combination.

The art work in this issue is excellent with some great story telling. “The Subway Horror” is a reprint of “The Strange Case of Henpecked Harry” from the 1947 issue.

This is one creepy cover with remarkable inks and superb centering.

A very tough issue to find in high grade. One other in grade and only 3 blue labels higher in the census. A CGC 6.0 sold on Heritage on October 21, 2018 for $1800.

The other 7.5 is currently for sale in ComicLink’s auction. Check out the covers. I think mine is the purdiest.
