I believe the faded comic shop pedigree is highly valued.  The more faded the better.

Sir youre basically taking say a $50 bill, charging $100 for it, then burning it very slowly-

Everything in the store is ruined

Imagine that

It's worse than a fire

At least with the fire all your product is disintegrated, and the pain can slowly fade from memory.

Now he will see his worthless product everyday he opens the shop and the rage will burn within him on a daily basis.

Every time I see this thread this is how I read it... "I went to a comic book store today and saw...", my brain continues that with ... "A Day in the Life" by the Beatles...

Every. Single. Time.

It's been a while since I've seen those photos

Hundreds of thousands of comics destroyed.

BUT.... those people had been seduced by Wertham, the Comic Shop owner has no excuse.  He's supposed to be a steward of the comics and the hobby.

Gotta keep the comics up high. Out of reach and sight of comic buyers. There are valuable empty tables for gamers on the ground.

That makes me sad.

They got rid of all of their many "floating walls of books".

One of the problems with the above photo is that the long boxes on the tables are basically titles A through M.  The long boxes on the ground are titles N through Z.  The store has more than enough room to put the floor boxes onto tables.
