It's Dead Eye Western v2 #4, and it's from the Edgar Church (Mile High) pedigree. ComicConnect says "VF (8.0), White pages, Glossy!". It is raw however. I have always wanted to own an issue from a pedigree, So, I figured I might as well get an issue from the most famous pedigree of all! There is another that I can't find for some reason that talks about the contradictions with the Reilly ped. Joe Ankenbauer The thread by @miraclemet that @telerites links to does a good job of laying out the Okajima story. It's been a while since I read it, but I think there were some questions left unanswered about the collection. I believe the dealer who brought the collection to market posted that he would try to add some information (or maybe would try to locate some information) but I don't believe he posted a followup to the thread. The biggest mystery with respect to the SF/Reilly books is that the collection was supposedly started by Tom Reilly before he was drafted during WW II. His parents were said to continue buying comics while he was in the service. He was supposedly killed in the Pacific in a kamikaze attack. A boardie, I think it was @nearmint, did some pretty painstaking research and was unable to find a "Tom Reilly" from northern California who fit the story--e.g., drafted into the navy and killed in a kamikaze attack. There is also some question as to what name is actually on the stamp that appears on the back cover of some (but not all) of the books. It's very hard to make out, but doesn't seem to be "Tom" or "Thomas" Reilly. Bob Beerbohm, then of Comics&Comix in Berkeley, with partners bought some of the collection. He was on the boards for a while, and did discuss the collection, but his recollections were rambling and difficult to follow. In the end, he got into fights with a number of boardies over various issues and was banned from the boards and some (maybe all?) of the relevant threads were taken down. There are some people who believe the whole Tom Reilly story was made up by the original sellers who brought the collection to the Berkeley comic con in 1970 (or was it 1971?) to help market the books or to avoid having to disclose their true origin. Maybe it has cat pee maybe it doesn't...ordered the graders notes for 5$ just to satisfy my curiosity. Book looks absolutely amazing in hand, like a 9.6 with a tiny strip of moisture damage along the top edge. Don't see myself getting many more Church books due to the cost, but if I was gonna overpay on one I'm happy to do it on a midgrade book..
