Posted my best 3 high grade pick ups from this year earlier, but wanted to add 3 more that were really awesome additions for me in 2018.  I added this trio of Lucky 7s thanks to boardies which makes these special ... and only one was from sales thread, the other two resulted from casual pm conversations. 

No matter how much people complain about how dead the boards are now, or how slow the marketplace is compared to how it used to be...I can only say the CGC boards and the people who frequent here have been godsends to me as a collector and a father of 3 children under the age of 5 who doesn't have time to make it to the LCS more than a handful of times a year, let alone all the big conventions. 

Two of the books were not offered for sale publicly and the boardies gave me plenty of time to come up with the money to buy them (in one case over a year).  They weren't cheap, but the deals were very fair and no shady auction houses were enriched in the process which is great.  Thanks quiet gracious boardies I'm very grateful!

Inspired by a few other posts, I thought I’d add to the fray. Picked up a fair amount of great stuff this year. 2018 was a good one. If I had to pick three, I’d go with these. 

Flash Comics 1 Ashcan - not the scarcest ashcan, but a grail of mine and a big addition to my Flash Comics run. 

Flash Comics 2 - I’ve long wanted a copy in grade. Passed on one, regretted it, and couldn’t let another end up elsewhere.

All-American 89 - Challenging book in grade and a comic I’ve coveted for quite some time.

I 'went big' on PCH, LB Cole and other longtime faves, and wiped out far more of my wantlist books than I thought possible through some mix of buying/selling strategy and sheer dumb luck.
