I accept PayPal unless otherwise noted for a particular book; payment is expected within 24 hours unless other arrangements are made.  Books can not be shipped while fees are outstanding.
Please, no HOS or Probationers. Unless otherwise noted for a particular book, the buyer has three days from the day of receipt of graded books to inspect purchases, seven days to inspect raw books
and books must be returned in exactly the same condition as when they were shipped.

Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs.

Shipping is included in the price in the continental US unless it is specifically excluded for a particular book.

I'm happy to ship anywhere else the law allows for exact shipping costs.

I have obtained collectibles insurance so it won't be necessary to insure packages valued under $20,000 but they will need to be sent with signature tracking.

You are welcomed and encouraged to PM me with offers or discussion but the first unconditional Take It in the thread gets it, trumping any PM discussion.

I reserve the right to sell to whomever I choose and may, at my discretion, disregard a Take it in the thread.

Specifically, a Take it in the thread will be disregarded if the poster has not paid for other books which he has agreed to buy.

You know..., the usual rules.

My kudos thread: https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/241444-jim-corrigans-feedback-thread/

I also have a sales thread up in the Copper/Modern Age only forum with a Cap SS signed by Stan and a boatload of well-cared-for Marvel Masterworks:

Daredevil 181 CGC 9.9 White Pages  $2,995 shipped or best offer sale or trade.

The Facts:

There are almost 2300 copies of this issue graded either 9.8 or 9.6 yet there are only 6 issues graded 9.9 and none graded 10.0, making this book in this grade almost as rare as a unicorn.  There is a very interesting and incredibly well-written article in the Registry about this book and I'm including the link to it for your enjoyment.  It's well worth a read.  Not only does it mention that there are only 6 issues in 9.9, it goes on to say that there are only 5 with white pages.

Here's an excerpt from RMI High Tech's article from Jun 2016:

Quote

VALUE:
This is the iconic Daredevil, Elektra and Bullseye cover of this set. It may not be the most expensive or rarest issue in the set, but arguably it is the most popular. By comic world definition, it is a key issue.
Expect to pay $2,500.00 for a 9.9 copy. You will have competition to get it. Maybe me too.
Expect to now pay $150 for a basic 9.8WP Copy, easily more if excellent structure and more again if signed. And add a premium for the “Newstand Variant”, generally sold for around $200 now. The Newstands aren't rare but they are hard to find.
I have seen Stan Lee 9.8WPSS copies sold for $400.00, and recent Frank Miller 9.8 WPSS copies actually sold for around $700.00, more if Klaus is added, and if Stan is added, well over $1,000.00 for all three. I expect this price to hold as Franks SS fees have dropped.
I have seen no sketches on any SS copy, but expect one sooner or later.

I haven't been through the entire registry but I saw two of the other 9.9 WP in registry sets.  They're worth 500 points if you're keeping score at home.

As you might expect with only six copies in existence, historical sales data is almost non-existent.  I only have information on two sales.  GPA lists a sale in Jun 2006 at $1500 and that's all.  The link above is to an article which describes the author's purchase of his copy for $2500, apparently in June 2016.  If anyone has any additional sales that they have knowledge of, please PM me.

I would prefer not to accept PayPal on this book but if PayPal is a must, please PM me ahead of time.

I also not only welcome but actively encourage a trade on this book as long as the material you offer is of the same high caliber.  My primary interest is in high grade GA Bat books and SA Spiders but there are certainly a plethora of other books which will catch my eye and quicken my heart.  Please, please don't hesitate to contact me.  It might very well be that your trash is my treasure. xD

This may be a limited time offer as one of the auction sites has expressed and interest in accepting it for consignment and I'd like to switch this book out for books more inline with my current collecting interests.  Thanks, everyone, for taking a look.

I think I've covered all of the bases...

Now for THE BOOK:

Tales to Astonish 59 CGC 9.4 ow-w  $1700 shipped

Key: 1st appearance of the Hulk in TTA and classic battle between the Hulk and Giant-Man

CGC Census: 15 graded in 9.4, 9 books graded higher

The most recent sales of which I am aware, both with lower page quality, are two in 2017: a cream to off-white copy which sold for $1195 and an off-white copy which sold for $1733.  You can look at both of them on Heritage.  In my opinion, the book which sold for $1195 was poorly cut which might account for the lower hammer price.  I see a definite drop from left to right of what should be horizontal.  There may be other sales which weren't reported to GPA of which I'm not aware since some sellers short-sightedly don't share information.  If you know of any, please let me know.

Apparently, this book has not been pressed.  If you inspect along the spine, you'll see several creases which could be pressed out.  Roll the dice and you might come up a winner with a 9.6.  Deep, rich colors.

Thanks for taking a look.

Brave and Bold 34 CGC 4.5 cr-ow pages $400 shipped

Origin and first appearance of Silver Age Hawkman and Hawkgirl!

Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane 68 CGC 9.2 off-white pages $110 shipped  Sold!

No recorded sale in this grade since 2013 which was for $91.  A 9.4 sold in 2016 for $250.  There are 14 this grade or higher in the census.

I remember buying a copy of this book off of the rack when it came out in 1966.  It took my entire grass-cutting allowance for the week and I still had to beg my parents for a penny to cover the sales tax.  Those were the days!
