General Question about Grading? 0

What does it mean for example a seller has put this in their title (see below) I have always wondered what it meant, could someone advise?

 

"F9 121 cm clean"

That is not common grading speak. I suspect it's some code, specific to this seller.

Thank you, I have not seen this as common either but I have from time to time came across listings like this and when I looked within the description I didnt see anything noting what it was about. Thank you for taking your time to reply.

I googled it and it lead me to the seller on eBay.

Maybe we should ask the seller what it means, the "cm cleaned" throws a flag for me.

I'm usually a bit leery of folks that don't use modern grading terminology. 

For instance, what does "Very Good to Excellent" mean to you..?

I bet it’s mostly people who don’t know how to grade, or what the standards are. I find most people regularly selling comics either are very good at grading, or don’t grade but describe. Either one seems reasonable to me.

That's a grade you'd give a baseball card.  The grades are less broken out than with comics, so you have Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good, Excellent, and Mint, with mid grades like Vg/Ex in  between, I believe.
