Popular Post Brian Peck
John Buscema drew over 100 issues of Savage Sword of Conan with a wide range of inkers from Tony Dezuniga, Ernie Chan, Pablo Marcos and Alfredo Alcala but my favorite inker on the series was Big John himself. The best issue Savage Sword of Conan #61 "The Wizard Fiend of Zingara!". I own two pages, including the best page from the story which I got the Heritage some 15 years ago. The one nice thing about Savage Sword was it was a BW magazine like Warren Vampirella and Eerie which ment no Comic Code. So Buscema was free to drew his women with less restraint. Years later on ebay I came across a letter Michael Fleischer wrote to John about this issue which was there first calibration. I included the letter and page in my book "John Buscema Michelangelo of Comics" Page 15 below is a great example of his draftmanship. Popular Post MIL0S
I have several Buscema SSoC pages, the earliest is from issue #5 inked by ‘the tribe’ (Tony DeZuniga and friends): Another page with DeZuniga inks from #49. I really like DeZuniga’s inks and frequent use of zipatone, and I’m I sucker for a nice nautical themed Conan page: One from issue #73 with inks by Dan Bulanadi: and here are a couple of pages with nice lush washy inks by Ernie Chan from issue #78: I agree with Brian that Big John inking himself is always great, I don’t have any SSoC pages with Buscema inks but I do have an illustration that is a variant of a European convention program cover: ComicArtAddict, ThothAmon, Panelfan1 and 3 others
Blastaar
Are most on 11x17...or did they use a different size and stock for this series being that it was a magazine (not sure if that matters).

Ted_L
Those pages Brian posted are amazing! Buscema must have been feeling really inspired by that story! I sold the few pages I had from this series, but I still have an inside front cover from issue #29 by Gil Kane. Grey tones were added prior to publication. Brian Peck
This splash from The Darksome Demon of Raba was intended for Savage Sword of Conan #84. Blastaar
Hey I'm part of the club now.....just no Conan. Was just about to pull the trigger on a nice Ernie Chan piece when I came across this lovely backup story splash by Joe Chiodo for Savage Sword #82.
