Kubert School Alumni Fernando Ruiz and Kim DeMulder among others are coming to the Fest. 

Fernando Ruiz has been writing and drawing comics professionally for over twenty years. Much of his work has appeared in the various comic books published by Archie Comics. Fernando has drawn Archie, Archie & Friends, Sabrina the Teen Age Witch, Betty & Veronica Spectacular and many others. Most recently, he has illustrated the highly-publicized and much anticipated crossover series, Archie Vs Predator for Archie Comics and Dark Horse Comics. Fernando has returned to the Kubert School as an instructor. He has taught art for the past twenty years.

Kim DeMulder is an artist with over 30 years of experience, having worked at Marvel, DC Comics and other major comic publishers. He has inked literally thousands of comic pages, including Swamp Thing, Nick Fury, SheHulk, Defenders, etc. He is also an award winning painter and fantasy illustrator. And for the past 25 years he has been an instructor at The Kubert School.

GSCF is proud to announce Larry Stroman is coming to Garden State Comic Fest this weekend!

Larry Stroman is a comic book artist best known for X-Factor, Alien Legion, The Uncanny X-Men, Ghost Rider, Punisher, and his creator owned book Tribe along with Todd Johnson. Larry is from Boston where he spent most of his time drawing on every scrap of paper he could find, the dream became true when he began a 35 year career drawing for Marvel, DC, Image, Darkhorse and many more comic companies.

GSCF welcomes the National Cartoonist Society. The NCS promotes and fosters a social, cultural and intellectual interchange among professional cartoonists and to stimulate and encourage interest in and acceptance of the art of cartooning by aspiring cartoonists, students and the general public. Representing the NCS are artists, Rick Stromoski, of Soup to Nutz, Ray Alma, of MAD Magazine and Dog Bratton of Pop Culture Shock Therapy.

Attention GSCF FANS:
Morristown Pba and the Morristown Bureau of Police will be participating in the Garden State Comic Fest on June 29th and 30th at Mennen Arena. They will be helping us with our bag and cosplay checks. 
As an added bonus they will be auctioning off the original art piece shown below featuring Captain America created by extremely talented artist Billy Tucci.
Additionally 300 prints colored by 
Wes Hartman will be available for free during the Fest. (150 per day)

Roy Thomas is coming to Garden State Comic Fest! 
SATURDAY ONLY JUNE 29TH!!
Roy Thomas is a legendary comic book writer and editor, who was Stan Lee's first successor as editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics. He is known for co-creating some of comics' greatest characters such as Wolverine, Carol Danvers, Morbius, Vision, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Ultron. He also introduced the pulp magazine heroes Conan and Red Sonja along with the sci-fi fantasy Star Wars to Marvel Comics. Roy has had lengthy writing stints on Marvel's X-Men and Avengers, and DC Comics' All-Star Squadron and Infinity, Inc., among many other titles, books, and a couple of movies. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2011 and currently edits the comics-history magazine Alter Ego. 
Roy will be taking donations for the Hero Initiative Charity for each comic he autographs, with a maximum of ten per person (although there will be a $25 fee for each witness-graded comic or piece of original comic art signed). If you have more than ten, you can go through the line again with ten at a time but please donate again. 
Roy will also have his exclusive “official” Marvel Comics “Roy Thomas Marvel characters print” for sale at $20 each. He will personally sign each print for you, with some of the proceeds going to the Heroes Initiative Charity. — with John Cimino

Budd is an American cartoonist, and creator of the independent comic book Cavewoman, published by Root's company Basement Comics/Amryl Entertainment. Root's one-shot Cavewoman: Jungle Tales, was nominated for a 1999 Ignatz Award for Outstanding Story 
Root is one of the premiere contemporary "good girl" artists, with an art style similar to Art Adams.
This will be a rare appearance by Budd so don’t miss out on meeting him in person at this years GSCF!

Greg Hildebrandt is coming to Garden State Comic Fest June 29-30th at the Mennen Arena in Morristown, New Jersey!!!
Greg and his twin brother, Tim, were born in Detroit, Michigan in 1939, Both boys were avid artists and creative thinkers from a young age, and carried their artistic passion with them throughout their childhoods. For years Greg and Tim worked together and apart, receiving international recognition and numerous awards and honors. In 1975, Greg and Tim illustrated the first of a series of The Lord of the Rings calendars for Ballantine Books. In 1977, Lucasfilm hired the Brothers Hildebrandt to create the movie poster for the first Star Wars film, Star Wars: A New Hope. 
In 1981, they pursued separate careers. During the ’80s 
Greg’s art appeared on covers for Omni and Heavy Metal. The Franklin Mint and Lenox issued his work on collector’s plates, figurines, dolls and swords. In l984, Greg illustrated Mary 
Stewart’s Merlin trilogy, and he has illustrated 15 classics, including: The Wizard of Oz, Aladdin, Robin Hood, Dracula and Phantom of the Opera. When commenting on Greg's work the New York Times said, “Fortunate the child or adult who receives a gift of the classics richly illustrated by Greg Hildebrandt.”
After 12 years apart, the Brothers reunited in 1993. They worked on Marvel posters, pre-production art for Stan Lee and Michael Uslan, producer of the Batman films, a King Tut book, the 1994 Marvel Masterpieces card set, X-Men and Spider-Man card sets, Terry & the Pirates (comic strip) and an X-Men 2099 painted bookshelf edition. In 1999, Greg began to paint a life-long dream. He created his 'American Beauties' series of retro pinup art. There are presently 100 amazing paintings in this series. In recent times Greg has done a number of covers for Marvel including Deadpool Vs. Thanos, Secret Wars, Old Man Logan, and Guardians Of The Galaxy, Star Wars, Thor, Daredevil, X-Men, to name just a few!

Chrissie Zullo is coming to Garden State Comic FestJune 29-30th!! 
Chrissie has designed statues for DC Collectibles and merchandise for Lucasfilm. She created comic book covers for “Star Wars: Forces of Destiny”, “Hack/Slash vs. Vampirella”, “Josie and the Pussycats”, “Vampirella”, “Life With Archie”, and Vertigo’s “Fables: The Wolf Among Us” series, as well as “Fables”, “Fairest”, “Cinderella: From Fabletown with Love”, and “Womanthology”. 
She has worked for DC Comics, Fandango, Mattel, Dark Horse, Devil’s Due, IDW, Topps, and Harper Collins. She also has a strange obsession for all things yeti.
