Inside pages of book seems loose from cover 0

Hi everybody 

I just bought a book and the inside pages wasn’t aligned with the cover when delivered.

in the ad it didn’t show this but when arrived I got the book like this.

When I tap the case lightly the inside pages  of the book will move all the way to the top & bottom of Cgc well

has anyone experienced this before?

Well, that's not good. I've seen this happen when the cover 'sticks' to the inner well, while the insides move. Not sure why, maybe static electricity ? This situation puts stress on the staples, which can result in tears or, worst case, detachment. In the short term, store this book flat to alleviate the stress of gravity. Do not leave it vertical. If I received this book, I would send it back. Sorry.

ASM 361 is notorious for having loose staples that allow the cover to shift slightly, which makes it more vulnerable to damage at the staples while being shipped in a slab.
