Stains

Your question is very vague.

It all depends on what you are buying it for or planning on doing with it..

Investment, slab and flip, read and collect, etc.

I am a collector only, so that staining on the rear cover would not bother me in the least.

According to the grading standards "minor staining" is listed as a defect allowed up to FN 6.0 and not mentioned in any grades higher so the "assumption" would be that staining in any grade higher than a FN 6.0 would take a hit, how much of a hit???

All depends...

What book is this?

What other flaws/defects are present on the book that affect the "overall" grade.

Id like to get copies of books I like in the 7.0 and up range. (of course I would never collect true keys) Thanks

Without seeing the entire book nobody can make an assessment as to weather the book would fall into the FN/VF 7.0 range.
