Getting a CGC Graded Book Regraded Risk
1 1

Hey all, I have a beautiful Where Monsters Dwell #6 CGC 9.6 WP.  For the life of me I don't see any flaws just looking at in the the case (I am a noob though).  There are no graders notes that are available to buy.  It was originally graded in 2014.  I have read on some threads that some years CGC seems to grade harder than others and was wondering if 2014 was one of those years.  If it was, I'm thinking about resubmitting it to get regraded.  There are only 9.8's and was think it might be worth the risk (?)....

I was just curious to peoples thoughts on this, thanks!

Seems like a worthwhile book to try it on, an easy double if you get the 9.8 .  I'm not sure about the 2014 timeframe but I think they were starting to tighten up.

Yep and it’s a cheaper alternative to the originals :)

I agree that the upper left corner will probably prohibit an upgrade. Also, there appears to be some red overspray on the upper right corner pages. The light overspray doesn't cause a downgrade but with a nice 'tweener' book like this (9.6 - 9.8 range) it probably holds it at 9.6 . Nice book.

Wow! You went all out with the grading! :-)

they missed the bottom right corner which is slightly blunted. Great job highlighting all the defects that keep the book out of potential 9.8
