There appears to be a points problem with the set All-Star Squadron:

The points values inexplicably drop beginning with issue 11, stay low until issue 46, and then resume their former values.  Here are the details:

9.8s in this set are scored at 48 points, until issue 11, when they suddenly drop to a value of 40, hold there issue 46 and then (after issue 47, Todd McFarlane's first DC cover, which is appropriately valued higher, at 96), the issues from 48 on down score 48 points again in the 9.8 range (except issue 50, which scores 64 for the 9.8.  No problem with that).

REQUEST:  Please normalize (raise) the scores for All-Star Squadron issues 11-46 to match the rest of the regular set values; that is, please raise them to equal issues 2-10 and 48-67.

Thank you!

Thank you for your request. I increased the point values of #25 and # 47. Based off research, books 11-49 are slightly less than 1-10 and 50-up, therefore these scores were not changed.

Hi Mollie,

Here is what is becoming my annual request to look at one book- Superboy 68. It has the first appearance of Bizarro and doesn't have a graded copy above 9.0. Here are some breakdowns of recent sales. Fortunately for this book, it does seem to sell on a more consistent basis. These are all CGC Blue Labels. Most of these are off by 10x or more.

Grade             Current Value   Recent Sales (Last Sale)

9.0                  800                     $3107 May 2008 (this is really the only very old data point)

8.0                  340                     $6600 May 2019

7.5                  200                     $4605 June 2019

7.0                  170                     $3120 November 2018

6.5                  120                     $2299 May 2019

6.0                  110                     $1380 May 2019

5.5                  100                      $1080 May 2019

5.0                  80                        $1000 June 2019

4.5                  65                        $504 April 2019

4.0                  60                        $662 January 2019

3.5                  50                        $525 March 2019

3.0                  40                        $480 December 2018

2.5                  35                        $425 May 2019

2.0                  25                        $260 April 2019

1.8                  20                        $280 February 2019

1.5                  20                        $220 August 2018

1.0                  20                        $175 August 2017

.5                    15                        $104 August 2018 (Incomplete)

Thanks for your consideration, Mollie!

Hello,

I request a point increase for Detective Comics 400 (Edit: Published 6/70), first appearance of Man-Bat, because it is in very high demand and, accordingly, prices at which it sells in, generally, all grades have increased and it appears will continue to do so.

Recent sales include:

CGC 9.4 $1950 eBay

CGC 9.6 $2600 ComicLink

CGC 9.0 $770; $795; $635 eBay

CGC 8.5 $525; $500; $490 eBay

I request that CGC consider a 25% point increase for this issue.

As always, thank you for your work.

There are some books in the Western Comics set that do not have scores at all.

Thank you for your post. I was able to update about 10 books in this series. Please note that we can only provide scores for books in which CGC has graded. We have not graded every book in this series, therefore some scores will remain blank until they are certified.

HI!

The Iceman (1984) Set was recently updated however there were errors. I'm considering these updates as errors based on how the Registry's hierarchy and scoring is for another Marvel series released at around the same time, Marvel Super Hero's Secret Wars. Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars US and Canadian Edition's are both under the same Slot with the same score (see attached photos). That being said, I am assuming that is the way Iceman (1984)'s hierarchy and scoring should be.  Currently the Iceman #4 Universal (Standard US Issue) is scored at 35 however the Universal Canadian Issue is currently being scored at 32. Also the the Iceman #4 for the US and Canadian Editions each have their own slot which shouldn't be the case.  I made notes on the photo (see attached photo) on how it should be if we use Marvel Super Hero's Secret Wars as a Bench Mark.

Set: Iceman (1984)

Book: Iceman #4

--------> Iceman #4 Canadian Edition should be recognized within the Iceman #4 slot- Score should be adjusted to 35 also.

Dear Mollie,

I noticed that the two super-duper-rare Serbian editions of The Walking Dead comics are rated no higher than their bookstand equivalents.

Please will you have a look at revising the scores for:

1. Okruzen Mrtvima 2 Serbian Sketch Edition / https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/registry/comics/SlotScoreDetail.aspx?SlotID=118543 AND

2. Okruzen Mrtvima 10 Serbian Sketch Edition / https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/registry/comics/SlotScoreDetail.aspx?SlotID=118538

The former (#2) was limited to just 50 copies of this B&W / sketch edition, and the latter (#10) to just 100. They both attract premium prices on the very few occasions they come to market.

I suggest score them closer to or equivalent to other very rare TWD comics such as:

https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/registry/comics/SlotScoreDetail.aspx?SlotID=228983 (limited to 25)

https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/registry/comics/SlotScoreDetail.aspx?SlotID=170462 (limited to 105)

https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/registry/comics/SlotScoreDetail.aspx?SlotID=150491 (limited to 500)

https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/registry/comics/SlotScoreDetail.aspx?SlotID=156484 (limited to 500)

https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/registry/comics/SlotScoreDetail.aspx?SlotID=228164 (limited to 500)

I also note that the CGC Registry Census Report is not working properly for these two comics - please correct this.

Thank you :-)

Stephen

Hi Mollie,

Please refer to messages sent on April 21 and June 11 about Tales To Astonish #13 (first appearance of Groot).

The points assigned are extremely unfair for this expensive and now a key Marvel. Can you put a priority on making a correction on this issue, please. Thank you.

All the scores for the Atlas title Venus (1948) are absurdly low, and this is especially true for the more coveted pre-code horror books towards the end of the run. 40 points for a 2.0 #18? That book is worth nearly $1000...

The entire set has been updated. Thank you for your patience.

Hi molly

Back to the future use 2015

issue #1

only 62 graded copies of this book they are extremely hard to find. Most copies are signed which makes them very expensive. I can’t find any recent sales on eBay as they are that rare

This standard #1 has been updated. Thank you

Hi Mollie

With the increased interest in first appearances and other noteworthy comics registry points on a number of Silver & Bronze Age books have fallen behind current market values. In a few instances the 'gap' is quite significant and there is also a good case for reviewing registry points on a number of other books. I've compiled a list of books where there is a current disparity and I've used the 9.4 Universal Grade as a barometer of relative values for registry points and latest reported GPA and set these out in the table below. The only exception is Avengers #43 where I have used the values for 9.6 Universal Grade because there is increased interest in the book across all grades but no recent reported 9.4 sale.

Obviously GPA on these books will change over time but I believe recent increases in value are likely to be sustained into the future and therefore a review of registry points to reflect these market changes would be quite timely. When you get chance to look at this you can decide whether to make any points changes.

Thanks for considering.

Jon
