miraclemet 11,491 posts Posted January 4 I've been hunting for pages from the first issue of Green Lantern I ever read. I still remember every moment of the book.. I remember buying it at the Circle K on Dundee Rd on our way to the Winter Haven "mall" where my mom was going to buy some clothes at Sears and she knew there was no way I'd be tolerable as she tried on clothes, so she hoped some comics would work. I remember picking up a GI Joe and maybe a Transformers comic (my gateway into comics was toys/cartoons) but also grabbing that spectacular Green Lantern 159 cover. I remember sitting outside the dressing rooms on the floor reading Green Lantern 159 from cover to cover and was just hooked. Fast forward to getting into the collecting hobby 10 years ago and discovering original art and then starting to hunt down the pages from my first Lantern book. I remember scoring my first page. I remember scoring a batch of pages from the backup Tales of the Green Lantern Corps story. I check ComicArtFans all the time (daily) hoping a page might pop up. Every page on there from 159 is mine, except 2, and I check in with it's owner every year to see if he's changed his mind about selling (he's not a GL collector, but a friend gave him the pages, so he hasn't wanted to sell them... yet) A few weeks back the title page popped up, and it was for sale, I contacted the seller immediately, negotiated and got the book. And now (having waited for the Christmas delivery rush to die down) it arrived for me. I remember seeing this page for the first time. It's branded in my brain. The "YA-HOOO!" I'd love a bigger Hal picture for the first page, but Im just thrilled to add it to my collection so I thought I'd share here (even though it's OA, and I know they have their own sub-forum, but I hang here, so I celebrate here!). Now excuse me while I check CAF again for any new pages... 35 1 1 Raze, shortboxed, Shadow and 34 others reacted to this

kav 44,272 posts Posted January 5 (edited) WHY does GL need a space ship??? I cant imagine having OA to first book I ever read-that is incredible. I would freak out. Ps why is GL thinking "get on MY good side" emphasizing the MY Was there someone else he was in danger of them getting on the good side of?? Plus is he allowed to accept gifts? Most police agencies frown on this sort of thing. 1 1950's war comics reacted to this

kav 44,272 posts Posted January 5 (edited) And also they must be dang fast ship designers/builders-this was made just for him in I assume a matter of hours if not minutes- Plus the fact he trained to fly an alien ship in probably seconds-like a Hollywood movie anyone can instantly fly any craft, alien or otherwise.
