Hey all, I posted a back cover with a piece out awhile back, but can post the whole thing now.  Some minor chipping and small creasing, cream pages, and the chip out of the back.  What do you think overall and how much/does the larger chip affect the grade?  It’s only one the back, no pages.  Thanks in advance.

One of my favorite books. The book has a LOT of smaller flaws. The chip isn't that big and probably doesn't even hurt the grade at this level too much. I am in the 5.5 range . I agree that I cannot call it a 6.0 .

You're a tough grader ! :baiting: I wish you worked for CGC, seriously ! Sometimes, when grading in these threads, I don't assign the grade I feel it deserves but the grade CGC will give it. CGC is so loose in these mid grade areas.

The whole grading system needs a reboot. There are millions of permutations of possible flaws on a comic, how can the same grade be assigned to books with diverse defects?

What should a 5.0 look like?

Just like yours, and nothing like the other 5.0's you have.

Not to mention that there discrepancies in grading standards of different places. The cover detached from a staple normally sets a comic in the VG range, but some allow it to be in the fine range. The Germans have their own grading system that might be more precise. It works on descending order, with a 0 being a perfect comic book.
