Buzzetta
We usually make these every year... I didn't see one so I figured... what the heck... As soon as I logged in I was greeted with the following image. It looks like ComicLink is effectively in the same taxation zone as Comic Connect... Game on... So.... what did ya win? Good luck to you all... Edited January 14, 2020 by Buzzetta
Popular Post Buzzetta
First comic wins of 2019... picked up for under GPA at $250 each... even with the tax... it made it worth it to upgrade... My ASM 64 goes from a 9.0 White Page Copy to a 9.4 White Page Copy... My ASM 74 goes from a 8.0 White Page Copy to a 9.4 Off White to White Page Copy (This has been a tough book for me for some reason) One question though is that the 74 is being sent back to Florida for a reholder... wonder how that will work with shipping. I will call them later this week. DST, badback83, yogi_bear13 and 7 others
Popular Post Bomber-Bob
I may be mistaken but prices seem pretty soft. All the higher grade ASM 129's sold well under GPA. My Spidey Sense is telling me the market is soft and the taxes don't help. I did win this......... Well, I believe prices were already starting to soften a bit in the auctions at the end of 2018 from what I was reading on the boards here. Not sure, but somehow I believe the continuing volatility of the falling stock market which is usually a leading indicator for the economy is probably not giving potential bidders a ton of confidence right now. I keep reading here that during Christmas season comic market routinely softens? I wouldn't know since I haven't been closely following as long as others on here. An ASM 129 just went on eBay for just under 5700 or 5600 so not sure there's much softening. Consumer confidence is a better indicator than stock market as a whole BTW. I don't think that's too hot either

Maybe it's just that ASM 129 is cooling off a bit, so that shouldn't be used as a market indicator? It's seems that it's been hit or miss on that book at auction going on like 6+ months now....and I only won 4 out of the 20 books I bid on tonight, annnnd had to re-bid today on 3 out of those 4 because I had been outbid on them as well....and I've been outbid on the majority of the books I'm going for over the next few days as well, so I don't know about this whole "market softening" business...at least not in an "across-the-board" type way....(and if memory serves...winter auctions have always seemed a bit "softer" from my perspective...I'm guessing the holidays/playing catch-up with money/getting taxes taken care of are more of the priority in these months...but come March/April/May when people have those returns in hand...it's a whole different ballgame!.... (more like forty cents ) ) ....or maybe I'm just bidding on super hot books and that's why I'm feeling the resistance a bit more?....20 books is probably too small of a sample size, but I shall report back after tomorrow night's activities as well! And I just happened to win the very first book in Comiclink's very first auction of 2019, so I feel suuuuper special!! Bart Allen
I'm curious about Comic Link; obviously on eBay (on certain shipping arrangements) you can see import charges and whether you don't have to pay them, so what's the scenario regarding international shipping on Comic Link, I wonder? Truly. It’s hard to justify selling stock at their low, to get into comics. But on the other hand, who knows how much lower stocks will go, given what is happening to this country. So despite the depressed prices, maybe 6 months from now it’ll seem like a genius move to get out of it now and put it in comics. Popular Post Black_Adam
2 for 4 so far - think both were under GPA. I'm not nearly as aggressive a bidder as I used to be, knowing that with shipments to WA state now ruled out due to sales tax I will have to foot the extra cost to have the comics carried by sled team to the Great White North. But I just can't resist those Bronze Age Aparo covers. And Adams isn't a half-bad artist either... romanheart, Top City Comics, lizards2 and 4 others
