A Giant size FF#2 in 9.6 went for $1211 when there is one on ebay for $279 ? And a one for $245 ? Someone please explain this idiocy to me.

I just looked at the bid history.  Looks like they tried to snipe it but the previous bidder put up such a high bid that he ultimately screwed him into a huge bid on a small time book.  Wow.

Is ComicLink reliable/legit? ....because their site is pretty archaic, outdated, like from the 90s. Their account registration form is so old school

Well, there's a very simple and logical reason for this.  :gossip:

If you check their Home Page, it states that they started up their business in 1996 and they have had absolutely no reason at all to update their website.

Especially with all of the ongoing complaints from everybody about the ComicConnect website after their massive website upgrade last year and which has most likely resulted in far fewer potential customers going to their website since they probably just hate change of any kind.    (shrug)

I like the way Comiclink site is and I don't want it to change a bit.

I just wish they could provide larger scans for both front and back cover more easily.

I am trying to drive up bidding on something over on ComicConnect as high as possible so I can see where everyone is to determine whether or not I want to pursue it or cut my losses early and bid on the thing I want second most in Comiclink.  hm

I have a feeling I am walking away completely empty handed but keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm going around making punishment bids across all platforms...

Pretty much lol ...Something that normally goes for "x" has been bid up to 1.5x by me because, I am fighting over it.   If it goes to 2.5x I am probably out and that's that.

At least two people "think" it may have upgrade potential. I did the same thing with a book I was outbid on last week, only I didn't go to eBay, I simply went to ComicLinks exchange and found the same book with better page quality for $234.00 less.

Looks like 1.5 guide is the jumping off point these days.

This is the only book I have won (and come close to final hammer price recently).

It's a page of art... so it might go to 3.5x.

I know not what I am getting myself into

What price guide site do you guys use? I use GoCollect, and ComicLink auction results pretty much destroyed the prices over there for a good 20-40%

Price guides seems to matter less these days as prices escalate almost daily it seems...Gpa is the standard...tread carefully
