 ya me too, you can really see how the sex pistols directly influenced Guns and Roses..... I've been listening to the Ramones a lot lately though, I've been making a lot of short car trips lately, with 2 minute songs, its the only way I can listen to more than 1 song ha.

Eventually in the future spanish will be the main language in america, so than what will they do?  Wasting all that energy?

That`s what I mean that there or they`re or their are not important to me and there are better things to be concerned about.

Kind of like how cursive writing has almost gone away..... I still practice it in case someday the only way to save the world is to read someone's cursive writing instructions to stop a nuclear bomb

BIG disclaimer:

The mother of my daughter is Spanish while my daugher is also half Spanish, so yeah I might have a bias. They live their lives perfectly normal without worrying about a or an or they`re, their or there.

English words, particularly for native speakers, are not difficult to learn to spell. Grammar and sentence structure is a little trickier, so I don't have a problem when sentences a preposition are ended with.

But spelling and colloquial usage is a relatively straightforward matter. Those who dismiss it, saying it "doesn't matter" are doing themselves a disservice. It reveals a lack of attention to detail, and should immediately be cause for suspicion, especially in a business environment.

If you can't get the easy stuff right...and worse, don''t care to...why would anyone think you can get the hard stuff right?

It's all about credibility.

And no one should say "oh, that's not important!" Tiny mistakes can cost lives. We've lost 14 shuttle astronauts to tiny, easily fixable mistakes: the temperature range for flexibility of the rubber o-rings that seated the fuel segments of the solid rocket boosters, and the shedding of foam insulation panels on launch. Teeny, tiny mistakes...14 lives gone. 99.999985% of the time, it won't cost lives, but it could. Attention to detail...pride in workmanship...says a lot about someone, just as the opposite does.

I'm going to be a real richard here - I work for a high end consulting firm and there's a high demand to get in.

I will automatically throw out a resume from someone that has basic grammar errors on it. If you don't think hiring managers care about their, there, they're, effects or affects, your or you're, or "should of" I guarantee you're wrong.

You can do just fine in America if you "do not care" about "that their, they're, or there stuff". You can do just fine.

You want to make real money in America? You need to not be an insufficiently_thoughtful_person - or at least not come across as one - and one of the things that will make you look like an insufficiently_thoughtful_person are basic grammar errors. I'm not talking about sentence construction, I'm not talking about the discussion about who vs. whom, or that vs. which. I'm talking about simple , like basic misspellings, or basic grammar rules.

You can argue all you want, but unless you are a god at what you do, you'll top out if you make stupid grammar errors in your communication.

Good. Let me guess you pay about a little over minimum wage, but myself I own my own liqour store and bar. Why would someone like me work for you when I am my own boss and by my guess I am close to 25 years younger?

I am the boss in my business selling alcohol.

Going to college was a 4 year waste and money pit.

Go work in a office after college than I will sell you booze and food with beautiful women serving you.

My uncles and father who only had 8th grade educations became millionaires selling food and booze and left me the business when they died.

College was not the golden ticket.

I was lucky.

that model of college is bs. I know uber drivers that make $1000 a week that blow away college ba salaries.
