Loose cover around staple (grading advice) 0

I would consider this book a 9.0-9.2 if not for this spot here.  Would love to know how much this would affect grading.  Cheers

If it's an actual tear or separation, it would likely keep it from attaining any grade higher than an 8.5...

I should say the cover is not loose at all.  Still firmly attached at this point.

CGC would likely treat it like a tear, which almost always means the best grade for it would be in the VF area...

It sure looks detached to me, at least detached from the back cover. You can see the white of the spine, right there by the staple. Even though you are asking us to grade this book without a pic of anything more than a tiny area, I think the book will be graded as a Qualified 8.5 or a Universal 7.0, ballpark.

Thanks for the replies guys.  Don't need the whole book graded just wanted to know how that would affect a book that would otherwise be NM-/NM.  Gives me an idea of what this does to the grading.  Appreciate the info!  Cheers
