Even if it doubled in value almost in every grade in 2019?

I think you need to check your arithmetic.

CGC 7.0: Highest price paid in 2018 - $16133, highest price paid in 2019 - $19200. Lowest price paid in 2018 - $15995, lowest price paid in 2019 - $12600.

CGC 6.0. Highest price paid in 2018 - $11000, highest price paid in 2019 - $11500. Lowest price paid in 2018 - $6663, lowest price paid in 2019 - $9088.

CGC 5.0. Highest price paid in 2018 - $8995, highest price paid in 2019 - $9000. Lowest price paid in 2018 - $5000, lowest price paid in 2019 - $7200.

CGC 4.0. Highest price paid in 2018 - $6000, highest price paid in 2019 - $7600. Lowest price paid in 2018 - $3250, lowest price paid in 2019 - $3300.

CGC 3.0. Highest price paid in 2018 - $5000, highest price paid in 2019 - $6050. Lowest price paid in 2018 - $2242, lowest price paid in 2019 - $2880.

CGC 2.0. Highest price paid in 2018 - $3350, highest price paid in 2019 - $3900. Lowest price paid in 2018 - $2032, lowest price paid in 2019 - $2611.

I don't see any of the above listed grades that doubled in price during 2019, unless you're comparing the lowest price in 2018 with the highest price in 2019. I don't think that would be a valid comparison.

And my guess without all this world turmoil that this X-Men 1 CGC 9.2 with white pages would fetch around 150k. With all that is happening who knows right now.

I would think so also. There is some big players out there with cash still. Seems people are buying now more then ever, maybe expecting inflation. So buying Big books like this might hedge against inflation??? I don't know??? I am thinking of FF5 will rise in price still, and I am looking and might pull the trigger.

I am just guessing I am not some computer that knows it all by hearth. Just know X-men 1 went up a lot in the last year or so in 9.2. I know CGC 9.2 use to sell for about 50k to 60k (based on paper quality) last one went for 128k and that is not with white pages either like the one up for sale now. I truly only follow grades in 9.2 for key issues of the SA. In 9.2 it has doubled. It has still done pretty well based on your numbers in most grades.

the one that went for 128k

last one that sold on Heritage in 9.2 in 2015 for 50k

I want to look at data for some higher grades, but some of the 9.0+ books don't change hands that often. Also, I didn't know by heart - I just looked it up.

$4k to spend, one book.  Mid grade FF 48 highest growth potential for the money?

With $4k, you can get a CGC 8.0/8.5 which is not mid grade. If you want to go all in with one book for $4k, I'd look into a bigger key like X-Men 1, Hulk 1, JIM 83, FF1 (which I think is undervalued). It also depends on if you don't mind owning lower grades for these copies. Just stay away from restored examples.

I sold off all xmen 1, giant size, ff 1 2 3 5 48 etc. I think there is going to be a surge alright but not the same direction you guys are talking about.

Even if they would happen to go up I don't think it will be as much as other investment opportunities. Some of these I will pick up again in the future xmen 1, giant size ( even though story is a bore) ff5 and 49. FF 1 2 3 even 48. I like silver surfer but he's not on cover and find story boring. 49 is better for me. I have no interest in these as far as having in my collection.

I’m still waiting for ASM 14 to catch/surpass ASM 3.

Sure 3 is an “earlier” issue, but GG has more overall importance in the Marvel Universe.

14 has closed the gap in recent years - maybe this will be the year it surpasses 3.

3 isnt just older, it has a much lower supply (2298 vs 3861) though definitely agree that green goblin is the more significant character + early app Hulk bonus.

Low grade? Sold because you don't like them or think of them as an investment ?

Both. I sold off all my inflated comics. Now just trying to time selling off my inflated stocks. The returns have been life altering on online retailers and entertainment like Amazon Netflix etc but won't last forever so have to cut back on those at some point. Same with medical companies. Either a vaccine cures will be found or won't but either way they need to go sooner than the others. My prediction is amusement parks, movie theaters, airlines, restaurants, cruise lines anything that involves crowds is going to fall even more. If so I will buy them up if I can time it right. If not then comics it is. Probably be both.

I am sorry but X-Men will do just fine long term. There are tons of X-Men collectors and fans.

Long term maybe, maybe even probably. Short term I am not betting on them. In the next year I can x-MEN 1, hulk 181, giant size losing 30 percent? I dunno how much but I don't see them gaining anything significant. Things that I do plan on buying I see paying huge dividends. I can always buy the books again for the same price or even 20 percent more. Hopefully buy them for less though.
