WHAT BOOK CAN'T YOU AFFORD TO SELL? 5 5

I never have sold a comic in 30+ years since getting into old comics, but I couldn't afford to buy back almost every comic I have since I have never paid much for any of them to begin with. The most I ever paid for a comic was 50 bucks for Suspense Comics #11 and I could never afford to get another copy now. Or my early Silver Streaks and the unnumbered issue, any Catman comics I have, early Planet comics, just anything I own pretty much because I paid almost nothing for them, rarely paying over 15 or 20 bucks for any and that was super expensive to me when I bought them. I couldn't afford anything I own nowadays or just could never find them again. Trying to find a copy of Miracle Comics #3 or Amazing Mystery Funnies V2#1 at all, let alone affordable to me again isn't going to happen.

About 2/3ds of my collection are books I bought many years ago for very good prices. Most, I would never be able to repurchase if I sold them off. So, I keep them and sell off stuff I just don't need anymore or have upgraded.

These are just a few of my most favorite books that if sold, I would never get back....

I would parse the question in to two parts.

1.  Books I couldn't afford to replace

2.  Books I may never find again

For category 1, I have a complete run of Batman's and I seriously doubt I could rebuild it if I sold it, especially the Batman 1.

For category 2, some of my 50s Batman's would be impossible to buy in the same grade.  Also, my pride and joy, Green Giant 1 likely could not be replaced.

My first ever Golden Age purchase back in 1996 when I was 13 .. VG- Detective Comics #49 ( I paid $300 Canadian which was around $200 usd) .. and probably Weird Comics 2

I don't think I could replace this . I bought it off Harley Yee about 20 years ago for $175.00.

Probably these two. Got them for a great price raw years ago , the Hit even further back than the Fantastic. Combination of price and seldom seen offered would keep me from being able to replace them now.

Uh yeah!  Nice!  I got mine out of an unplugged refrigerator collection up in East LA about 10 years ago for next to nothing. I know that ship has sailed for me too.

Indeed, I was just going through my boxes the other day, and noted a number of precodes that now would be difficult for me to justify the cost to replace. Happy to have them, alas for those I didn't happen to get yet!

Good point! In the spirit of not looking back, sometimes there are books I can "afford to part with" if I can get "X" with the proceeds. Everyone's mileage will vary on that call.
