Should I press this book?

Here is my copy of Punisher War  Journal #1.  I believe it is in excellent condition, but there are a few creases on the back cover.   Are these bad enough to down grade the book and /or will a pressing be worth it to gain the maximum grade?  Any input is greatly appreciated!

I would like to display / preserve it AND have a higher graded book to pass on to my son.  Ultimately, i want to know if pressing it will help to improve the grade.  I feel like the “wrinkles” were created during manufacturing or packaging.

The damage shown isn't production, it's just normal wear and tear. Damage that happens during packaging (I assume you mean initial distribution) is still damage, and still counts against the grade. Unless this specific copy has sentimental value to you, I wouldn't bother, as it's not worth it. If it does, most, if not all, of that will come out with a competent presser.

Here are the current average prices over the last year for slabbed copies:

9.0   $18

9.2   $34

9.4   $40

9.6   $48

9.8   $104

I would just buy one that’s already graded, especially since you are new to grading and slabbing. If you want a keepsake, buy an Amazing Spider-Man #129.

The book is sentimental to me so I probably wouldn’t sell, BUT if pressed, it seems like it would grade high and maybe I’d come out ahead $26+12=$38’ish cost to do (plus shipping) vs. 9.6 at $48 or even 9.8 at $104?

Yes, I would press without hesitation. Some of my earlier submissions came back with lower grading that could have been avoided, as it was due to regular minor wear. If you want to maximize grading, especially on your childhood keepsake, I would 100%.
