Inaugural annual Knights Comics and Collectibles Expo on Saturday April 13, 2019 held at St. Thomas More Collegiate in Burnaby, a suburb of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Up to 80 x 8' dealer's tables full of recent and vintage comics, graphic novels, toys, some used DVD's, vinyl LP's, and local talent artist alley. My buddy's son graduated from this high school and they are raising funds to renovate their library. I will be part of the 'Comic Adventures' team that will have five (5) wall tables full of reasonably priced back issues, some graphic novels, $1-2 blow out bins, My Little Pony items, and some used vinyl records.

Promotion by the St. Thomas More Parent's Association and co-sponsored by eSports electronic gaming tournament. More info and to reserve a vendor's table for $55 or less at new St. Thomas More Collectibles Expo, Burnaby

Pic of the front entrance. Right hand side will lead to the side by side 2 gyms that will hold this pop culture show geared towards high school families and potentially new collector/fans:

For vendors, the primary loading zone is wheel chair accessible, thus good for hand trucks from the southwest corner of the gyms. Per the dealer instructions, vendors will have to move their vehicles and park for free in the surrounding neighborhood that Saturday. This leaves the 3 surrounding FREE parking lots available for attendees and the handicapped. I believe Canadian Comics.net will also have 3 wall tables there. More comics vendors to be announced. Admission is $4 to support their library.

See you there in the show. We will be going to give our support to the library fundraising as vendors. Bringing lots of cheap readers and reasonably comics. To any vendors, please leave your horror themed or inappropriately themed comics home. We had asked that with the  show promoter, and she said they will check with that at the show to keep the show nice .

The school is church owned and running for that reason

10 minute walk from Edmonds skytrain station. Free street parking with no residential 3 hour parking restriction signs. Pic of north half of gym:

St. Thomas More's student artist alley may be moved to the foyer, if they sell out of all vendor's tables. There appears to be a cafe open upstairs 2nd floor for those hungry at this Saturday Collectibles show. South gym where most dealer's will be loading in from:

I wonder if that means we should leave 'Walking Dead' comics and graphic novels at home?

fyi, just heard of new Geektopia Vancouver

one (1) day con Sat. July 6, 2019 at Plaza of Nations (ex-casino) where 6' table costs an aggressive $350 in an 8' x 8' booth. Also, Fan Expo Vancouver in Feb, 2020 will run Sat, Sun. to MONDAY Family Day. Van Comic Show will be about 2 weeks after that (early March, 2020) at PNE Forum.

Good question regarding on Walking Dead books. I was told that the director by her message quote as said,

“I will come back to you regarding the horror comic books. As we are a family friendly event (we are inviting our three feeder elementary schools) I will have to have school administration’s approval for something like that.”

You could check with her if you like. As we have plenty of books in wholesome subjects which is enough for us to try out the inaugural show.

Hmm... yes, I was told about the next FEV show with the dates including Family Day holiday. That might pull in better attendance numbers. And to the other new show... I did see the ad pamphlets and online about that one. We are not sure, as we are working on plans for Kelowna show. We have 3 shows lined up so far as vendors.

They spelled my name wrong...it's with two O's... doh!

Sorry, that is the way your name is spelled in Canada. Electronic Arts gaming seems to have enough support to increase their eSports gaming tournament from 32 up to 64 teenage participants at St. Thomas More Collegiate Comics and Collectibles show:

eSports gaming, Burnaby

Extra advertising and posters up at UBC anime, SFU anime, BC Institute of Tech campus, and Douglas College anime clubs. Depending on budget, will try to target market local Facebook paid ads to comic, toy collector/vendors.

OK, Fanboy and I are looking forward to this inaugural comic/toy show that will have more young families, teenagers and elementary school kids. About 2 weeks left. As usual, a wide variety of comics and mags will be available:

St. Thomas More will have a silent auction for autographed sci-fi TV series '100' items. Other comic vendors will be Cdn Comics.net, Neat Keen Stuff, and Galinski. Their cafetaria should be open for snacks/lunch: located upstairs from the 2 gyms and then walk north. * 1 week to this Sat. con *

Sorry, no food trucks. Cafetaria will be serving soup, Jamaican patties, pasta, roast chicken, salad, pizza, coffee (cream/sugar), tea, pop, bottled water at reasonable prices.

At least we are supporting the school cafeteria for food. Not gonna try Jamaican patties for fear of spicy red peppers in there. Pasta ... I will see what they have.

I saw their ad up running on Craigslist...

They have also posted up direction signs promoting the con at corners near the Kingsway Burnaby and New Westminster border. 'Comic Adventures' will be at wall tables #6 to #10 on the right hand side of the entrance next to Galinski's comics :luhv: with wall tables # 25 and 26. Not sure which vendor is upfront next to front door: perhaps Cdn Comics.net who helped St. Thomas More promote their con with their Vancouver Comic Show (: website?

The show being their first time in their school was pretty good today. Props :golfclap:to all students who did all the setup, signs and food cafe. We did alright with our booth ... sold all the 50 cents bins in a blowout deal to two vendors. Lots of young people looking for great deals.

I ended up brought few jars of candy in support to this school. Got a cool sketch of myself by a local artist.

The food cafe was good with roast chicken and salad for $7.50. Blow out of overstocked pasta at the end of show for $1 /round aluminum container for dinner. Neat Keen Stuff sold his Hulk #181 and other semi-keys:

Yes, a lot of labor went just into setting up the industrial blue cover on the gym floor so our hand trucks would not scratch up the surface. Good Star Trek movie and Dark Knight background tunes. Neat Keen Stuff rack:
