Shipping from France

Does anybody have experience with shipping art between France and the US? I'm buying a framed page from someone in Paris and wanted to make sure that we're using the best provider possible. The page is fairly expensive so I would also love to be able to insure it up to the full value (around 8k). I had good experiences with DHL from Italy recently (Milan to Los Angeles in two days, I was speechless), but not sure if they are good for France as well. Alternatively I could have the page shipped to Germany, not sure if this would change the answer (if anybody even has one :-)).

Thanks so much!

I shipped a piece to France using DHL. Insurance was covered by the buyer using their collectibles insurance. No problems arose. I would use FEDEX as my go with signature confirmation for overseas.

I have had packages from France and Italy all come via DHL, which I believe is the best carrier for them to send to us here in the US. For sending to them from the US, our best is FedEx, although I have never had an issue with USPS Priority International either.

So yes, DHL is best and I believe what most collectors in Europe use to send to us.

Hope that helps!
