That's true... one alternative could be using $250+ in CGC 9.6, rather than $500+ in CGC 9.8.  Books from 1990-Present which are worth $250+ in CGC 9.6 and NOT variants would probably even eliminate some from the existing list.

I know this list excludes variants, but it has some reprint editions - aren’t re-prints just really a kind of variant edition when you really think about it?

Highly sought after by collectors and super hard to find in high grade due to flimsy cover stock and mail away distribution.  CGC 9.6 generally sells for well above $250 as well if you decide to make that your level.

Any copy of Wolverine 35 that isn't in a 9.8 slab has virtually zero value.
