I went looking for a club for this awesome rare book, and couldn't find one so I thought I would start it up.  I'm interested to see how many boardies have a copy of this one!

This is undervalued in my opinion.

First appearance of Sir Percy, the original Black Knight

First appearance of the Ebony Blade, a legacy weapon that is among the most powerful in the marvel universe.

First appearance of Morgan Le Fay

These significant first appearances combined with the rarity, puts this as a key book.

Here are my copies of #1 and #2.  These are hard to find in any condition.  I'd like to complete the set at some point.

Why have one beat up copy when you can have two beat up copies!!

This arrived for me today :)

Take a look at this book

I'm not familiar with atlas UK editions but this one looks very different from the US version.  Black and white interior, different back cover, etc.  My experience with Marvel UK is they're pretty much exactly the same but pence instead of cents on the cover.  Anybody with knowledge about this out there?

I'd like to see the indicia/publishers notification - agree it does look different from the US version.

Maybe @Get Marwood & I has some insight ?

Update: According to the GCD, it is a reprint:

Yep, GCD is correct, it's a reprint. L Miller were prolific reprinters of US material. It wasn't until 1960 that they solicited first printings with pence prices on them (see my Marvel / Charlton threads)

So would there be an actual atlas pence printing that would have been released in the UK  previous to this L Miller one?

No, the 10c Atlas is the original printed in the US. Miller then secured the rights to print their own version in the UK. The 6d copy is a reprint, tailored to the UK market, not a first printing price variant of the US original.  Still nice though, but that price is eye watering.

Yeah that price is ridiculous.  If it was reasonable I'd probably pick it up.  Maybe they'll take an offer....? :roflmao:

Thanks for your expertise!  Appreciate it!

Your welcome. I've noticed some of the UK reprints starting to creep up. The Alan Class reprints which contain first appearances, e.g. AF15, are starting to attract more buyers and are starting to be priced accordingly. But this example is blatantly over the top. Wait for another :wishluck:

I got hooked on Black Knight when Fantasy Masterpieces 11 started carrying the reprints. It must have been popular because quite a few more reprints followed.
