Well, unfortunately I'm high bidder on one of his auctions, and since it's less than 12 hours to go, I can't retract my bid. If I win the auction, we'll see what I get.

 

Yeah, if not, at least he's in California. If I need to pursue a legal action, at least he's relatively local. I'm sure it won't come to that, though.

Hmm, i thought about bidding on some of his books (and did bid on 1 at max bid of $1) , but his claims of 9.6 - 9.8 and all those !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorta had me suspicious. His feedback rating of 1 also didn't help. That said, I'm watching a lot of his auctions, but probably won't bid on any till he has a better track record.

 

Also, is it just me or can no one really grade on ebay? Pretty much every book I've bought on eBay rated by folks at 9.2, 9.4+ are filled with around 5-10 stress lines. I really hate stress lines! but wasn't sure if books of this grade should have them. I'm new to the whole 10 point scale of grading and just got back into the hobby after 13 years.

 

I just got the Overstreet Grading Guide 2nd edition and maybe 1 or 2 is ok according to the guide at those grades, but the 5-8 I see makes me sorta annoyed.

 

I may just stop using eBay completely or just buy from forum members who can grade correctly or cons/in person...

Regarding ebay, your best bet is to either a) buy slabbed stuff, or b) buy from five or six sellers that you've learned to trust. I usually try to go with option "b" when possible.

Red, common courtesy is not exactly common practice around here. I'm still waiting for AussieRuss to thank me for helping him post some of his scans when he first started posting here. I even sarcastically posted a "You're Welcome", but he was oblivious.

I too, had emailed this guy asking for big scans, and got the old "my scanner is broken, I don't have a camera."

To which I asked, "How did you get the images in the first place?"

 

To which I got the reply:

 

"Well, if you don't trust me, don't bid on my comics!"

 

Good advice.

On a different note, sorry I missed seeing so many of you at dinner Saturday night in San Diego!

I had a late thing I had to take care of...but honestly, really really wished I had gone to dinner with you guys.

Wouldn't it be funny if after all this, it turned out to be the next Pacific Coast-quality pedigree? 27_laughing.gif

 

Let's not forget that when Roter first published his ads for the PC books, no one could believe all the NM/M and NM+ grades he was assigning either. But they turned out to be true. hail.gif

You people are horrible, horrible people. I said I would not come back here, but just for the heck of it, I decided to come and see what people have been saying about me. After reading all of your posts, it's quite clear to me that you all have labeled me as a "scammer" and a "rip-off artist" who is out to either sell overgraded comics, or just plain take people's money and not send them anything at all. Well, I'm here to tell you that I have no intention whatsoever to "scam" anyone. I own every last comic that I have listed on eBay, and those people who win my auctions will get exactly what is described in that auction. You people are sick and I can't believe the things you people have said about me before my first auction even had a chance to end. I cannot believe that I thought you people were nice people when I first came here. Boy was I wrong. You people need to learn to not judge people and give them a chance before you label them as a criminal. Foolkiller, you are a nasty person. You claimed I stole photo's, said I was a downright fraud who lied about everything I said in my posts. Unbelievable. Jeffreykli even threatened to pursue legal action against me if he won one of my auctions. Rich Henn claims that I said that my scanner was broken and was wondering how my photo's got on my auctions in the first place. I never once claimed that my scanner was broken. I said that it was old and did not work very well. Every last photo in all of my auctions were scanned by me with my "old scanner" I scanned the instruction booklets for my phone and DVD player because it was alot easier then trying to scan the phone and DVD player themselves!!! I also told Rich Henn to "don't bid on my auctions if he did not trust me". Of course I said that!!! The last thing I want is a bidder to be uncomfortable with my auctions. If you're uncomfortable with bidding on my auctions, THEN DON'T BID!!! These are just a few of the extremely rude and nasty remarks you people have posted about me. It's pretty damn sad when people talk bad about someone they don't even know. I want you people to keep an eye on my feedback rating, because you will not see any negatives appear. I really feel bad for you people.
