It’s like Raboy became Schomburg for one cover.

Woo woo, you are one creative guy! I was just reading your Cap 1 post when this popped up.  Sounded like you were one of the original guys in this great hobby of ours

Outstanding!!! A straightforward, patriotic tour-de-force. The bomb-burst "In this issue" is an awesome touch instead of another boring text box. The shell bouncing off Marvel. The point-of-view. The charging troops right behind his lead. That amazing gradated sky. The whole darn book is amazing! (worship)

Man, what an incredible cover! I've loved this book since I spied it in an Overstreet probably forty years ago. The whole composition works so well here, including those wonderful colors. And I love how stoic (or even p'd-off Starman looks in the little inset top left!).

As with the Captain Marvel 12 I commented on above, everything works so utterly well in both cases - and they're in uber-grade to boot!!   :cloud9:

+1

Although I would generally agree with you here, I would personally much rather take the cover for Adventure Comics 73 myself:  :cloud9:

Golden Age (1938-1955):Superhero, Adventure Comics #73 (DC, 1942) CGC NM- 9.2 Off-white to whitepages....

There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me:
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie
