If that tear extends into the interior pages it may affect the grade even more, but as it sits, I'm in the 6.0 - 6.5 group...

Bingo. All valid observations. That central spine tear almost certainly rips through the pages also and if not is severe enough on its own to drop the grade below 6.0 regardless of how nice or not nice the rest of the book may be.. Back cover also has been scored. 5.0 to 5.5 with my lean towards 5.0 rather than 5.5. Pressing would have negligible to no effect in this case, IMO, though may help overall presentation a bit.
