From a key issue.  Flexible interpretations of "key" are fine -- all in good fun.  Recreations also fine.  Let's go !

ASM 800 page 50, "Death" of Flash Thompson scene, by Immonen:

Excalibur 1 Page 24

First issue and this page (Nightcrawler in the tub) begins the sexual flirtation subplot between Nightcrawler and Meggan that ran during the early issues of this series.

JLA/Avengers 1 Page 36

This page from the first issue of the min-series is part of the first encounter between the 2 teams. This is the second page of the series to feature both JLA and Avengers characters, IIRC. Features Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Iron Man, Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Plastic Man, Martian Manhuter and Green Lantern (Kyle).

Can't say I have much in the way of "key" comic art (would love to start changing that!), but I'd say this one is pretty key: Annihilation: Conquest - Star-Lord #1, Page 20 by Timothy Green II.  I'm pretty sure this is the first on-panel pairing of Rocket Raccoon and Groot (bonus appearance by Star-Lord), a pairing of course made famous worldwide by the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

Here is a great original comic strip art by Al Capp from the Lena The Hyena story line.  There was a newspaper contest to discover the Lena character, which was won by Basil Wolverton.

This particular strip features "Lester Gooch" which was a spoof on Chester Gould.  The character was modeled on Milt Story who was a contributor in Al Capp's stable of artists.

The huge success of the Lena contest preceded later grotesques such as Wacky Packages, Wierd-Ohs, Nutty Mads, and Garbage Pail Kids.  David

Man, that is a great page. Huge fan of Kirby/Sinnott's Crystal. I love this one a lot.

I can only even spin one page as being "key". My favorite story of all time is FF annual 6, and this page is the first mention of Sue's condition that initiates the whole thing. A non-descript page that will always be worth more to me than anyone else.

I suppose the only key page of some significance I own is Preacher #42, page 23 where Jesse is reunited with his mother:

When I mentioned to Ennis & Dillon at SDCC 1998 (where I bought it for what now seems like a very measly amount) that I never intended to let go of the page they insisted on signing it in a way that would help me keep that promise...:nyah:

The first page of the epic miniseries Archie: Freshman Year by Batton Lash, Bill Galvan & Bob Smith might also be considered as "key". Archie #587 page 1:

The gang looks really young in that story, thanks to Bill altering a few things when he drew them.

The first appearance of Archie's female counterpart, Archina, in the "Reversedale"-story from Archie #636, page 4:

Art by Gisèle Lagacé and Rich Koslowski. I believe that some Archie collectors would call the entire issue "key" and I don't mind since I own all of the interior art (the covers were digital).B|

Ooo, I do have a few to share here!

First Appearance Loki God of Stories version

ComAoA09.jpg

First Appearance Worthy Loki

ComAoA10.jpg

Deadpool tries to choose the correct Loki for his War- love this so much, obviously he settles on old school Loki, (after deciding that Female Loki would be too difficult of conditions to work under), which informs the rest of the run. The whole page breaks the third wall, even the Lokis he is looking up break them, with reference to writers.
