Grade IN - PGM Spirit 22 (Eisner signed)

Found a guy on kijiji (Canadian craigslist) selling a beat Batman 8. Contact him, said he had some more Bats for sale. He wanted to meet at Mcdonald's parking lot. After he shows me his Bats, which included the 8 and a 3, he pulls this out. Knows a lot about comics but has been out of it for 15+ years. Bought lots of books from Harley over the years he tells me. I'm wondering how bad the rings affect the grade? Like there was nothing else to use as a coaster.....Wonder if there's any other Eisner signed 22s? Thanks for any insight

Great book! If those circle marks are just indents, I think they can be pressed out. After which, I think a 6.5 is definitely possible, maybe even a 7.0.

If the marks are stains from whatever cup sat there, probably 5.0-5.5. I would still see if cleaning could remove whatever residue it is if its residue.

Wow, now that is a pretty book. Keep in mind that I viewed the photos on my cell phone, which is making me blind since I stare at tiny pictures of comics all day zooming in to try to find tiny flaw, and my lovely newborn daughter hasn't let me sleep in a month.

There is no way that this book is a 5.0 or below in its current condition. I had a Spirit 22 graded a few years back that was a 5.0 and it had a long 2-3 inch tear on the back cover, cover inks werent nearly as nice and the book had multiple color breaking creases and a few smaller deeper creases on the FC almost like a printers crease. Can't tell if the circles are just imprints but a press clean should help, if the circles are imprints then the book may need to be pressed more than once, those deep imprints tend to pop back up after a week or two.

Also had a Bats 121 just come back a 5.0 and that Spirit is an older book and much nicer.

I'll go 6.0 current and if the circles are just imprints than it has a chance to bump to the 7.0/7.5 range (if the right person presses the book). Cgc tends to be more lienient on gold and early silver books.

Dang. I was off on this one.

It's tough enough to grade books when they're right in front of you. When you take away the ability to examine them in person, it's amazing we're even close. You're doing great, my friend...
